** Betty helps Jughead decorate the trailer for Christmas // notes: domestic, christmas fluff, bughead fluff**

"Hey why didn't you decorate?" Betty asks, turning to her boyfriend while walking to his trailer.

"Betty, i've never decorated for Christmas." Jughead responds.

They're walking home after a double date with Veronica and Archie. Milkshakes at Pops with the Core Four is what they've need for a while now.

"Never?" she questions.

"I mean, when i was younger and it was my mom, my dad and baby Jellybean we decorated the whole house, we even had a tree." he looks off longingly remembering those distant memories.

"I guess since my mom left with Jellybean, my dad and i just never had the spirit."

"Don't you miss it?" they stand outside in ankle deep snow, ten feet away from his trailer.

"Sometimes." he pauses. "I don't know it's just been so long." he looks down at her.

Without another words she grabs his face between both hands and kisses his lips. "Well i'm gonna make Christmas a happy time for you and your dad again."

"Oh no. Betty can't you just leave this alone?" Jughead whines.

"You've banned me from celebrating your birthday, Jug, you aren't keeping me away from this." She drags him by his hand to his trailer. "Now let's go."

"So where do you keep the decorations?" Betty asks setting her coat down on the couch, ready to make it look like Jughead's childhood.

"Um..." he leads, looking guilty.

"Oh my god. You don't even have anything!" she semi-shouts.

"We do!" he says back in his defence. "I just have no clue where." he admits.

"Jughead, dear, this is a small enough trailer. I'm sure they're not far." her voice is calm, soothing.

They each start rummaging through everything. Jughead is searching in his dads closet while Betty looks under his bed.

"Aha!" Jughead says. "Found some." he pulls out a dusty, grey bin from the top of the closet.

He sets it down on the bed as Betty comes around to the other side. Inside are tree ornaments.

Blue and silver, mostly.

"We always had a real tree that we'd go pick out." he says once again sounding guilty. He looks down at the bin as if he's disappointed Betty.

She notices and places her hand on his cheek to lift his face. "Why are you being like this? It's fine we'll go get a tree. That's fun! It's part of it."

He doesn't say anything. Just silently nods.

"How about this one, Juggie." Betty calls to him. "It's not too big and it'll fit right next to the tv."

Jughead grins at his woman. She's so happy and in her element. This is all he wants, is to see her happy. And if she's happy doing this for him, even though he doesn't really want it, he's happy.

Betty grins back and asks someone to help cut down the tree. Jughead turns and spots mistletoe from the corner of his eye.

He looks back to make sure she doesn't see him and sneakily buys it quickly without Betty noticing.

"Turn the lights on!" she shouts to her green eyed lover, who's on the floor reaching for the plug to turn the lights they've sprinkled around the tree.

All of a sudden, the bland green tree becomes a shining, colourful decoration. It's already beautiful and they haven't even touched the ornaments.

One by one, get placed specifically on the tree. Betty even discreetly moves some that Jughead has placed. He's noticed and each time she does it, that same stupid smile touches his lips. She thinks she's slick.

The box is nearly empty when Betty reaches inside to grab the last one. She looks at it and notices it's different then all the others.

It's meant to be Santa's round belly, with the three white boutons and black belt but it's a bit messy. She turns it around, signed Jughead Jones, 4 years.

Her jaw drops a little, "Juggie, you made this when you were 4?" She's never seen any pictures or crafts from when he was little. Almost like his childhood doesn't exist.

He quickly turns and melts a little when he sees what she's holding. "I, uh, made that for Jellybean. She wasn't born yet but i was so excited i couldn't wait to give her presents." he smiles.

"i made that in school. They made me do it." he sounds ashamed.

"Jughead, it's precious." Betty says, not taking her eyes off of the beautiful and mysterious man she fell for.

"I miss her." he admits.

She snuggles up to him, still holding the art little Jughead once made. "I think this should be front and center. The first thing you see when you look at this tree."

She delicately hands him the ornament and he moves to place it where it'll look the best.

He backs up until he reaches the love of his life. She wraps her arms around his waist and rests her head on his chest while he has a tight arm around her shoulder.

They stand and observe what they've just spent so much time on, taking in this alone time that they rarely get.

"Oh i almost forgot." Jughead reaches down to grab something out of his back pocket. He pulls out mistletoe and holds it over the pair with a huge smile that reaches from ear to ear.

"When did you-" she starts.

"No talk. Just kiss." Jughead interrupts as he bends down to reach her soft lips. Home.
