Fifteen- Dustin x Reader

Chapter 2

El found two white bedsheets and we made a plan. We wanted to be normal for once, to feel normal. Be two girls wanting to have fun on Halloween night and are stuck at home. I cut two eye holes in each sheet.

When I was finished I handed once of El and put the other one over my head. I looked in the mirror and smiled. No one would be able to tell it was us if we went out tonight. That's if Hopper would even let us go out. I've experienced Halloween before but it's been 4 years since then and I missed it. I turned my attention back to the mirror to see El standing next to me.

We looked silly in these costumes.

I heard Hopper making breakfast and we decided to go show Hopper our costumes. Please let our plan work I thought. El and I walked out of the room and over to the kitchen.

We stood behind Hopper and waited for him to turn around. He flipped two slices of French toast before turning around. He let it a shriek and El and I started laughing.

"Ghost," we both said in unison. Hopper raised an eyebrow at us as he put the breakfast on the table. I decided on ghost costumes since it would hide our faces and so the bad men wouldn't see us if we went trick or treating.

"Trick or Treat," El said. Hopper stood eating and turned towards both of us.

"You want to go trick or treating?" He said in a funny tone. El and I nodded together.

"They won't see us," El says. Hopper sighs and continued eating.

"Who won't see you?" Hopper asked.

"The bad men, the people from the lab" I replied when I sat down and took the costume off. El sat down next to me and took her costume off.

"You know the rules," Hopper said standing up and putting his plate in the sink.

"Yes, but-" I say but Hopper cut me off.

"Then you already know," Hopper said and he huffed and he walked back over to us.

"I don't care, going out there as a ghost or not is taking a risk. And it's stupid. And.." he trailed off letting us finish.

"We're not stupid" El muttered and I stayed silent while eating. I roll my eyes and sighed heavily. I just wanted to leave the house for once, I wanted to see Mike, Lucas, and Will. But most of all I wanted to see Dustin. Just once, even for a second.

I threw the sheet on the couch. We were stupid to ever think that Hopper would let us out of the house. But at least we know we tried. Hopper poured syrup on El's toast but we were both not in the mood at the moment.

"Look. How about I get off early tonight, I'll buy us a bunch of candy and we can get fat together and watch a scary movie. How about that? Like the amazing family we are." He says. I glanced at El and kept eating without answering.

"Half happy" El says before starting to eat. I chuckled with Hopper as he rustled El's and my heads lovingly. I gave him a small smile as I got up and put my plate away.

"I'll be home at 5:15," He says as he grabs his jack and hat.

"Promise?" El asked and I looked over at him, he nods his and kissed us on the head.

"I promise," he said. He immediately opens and closes the door behind him. I went over and locked the door. I gave up on trying to leave the house. I looked over at El. She was like a sister to me.

I listen to El flick thought the channel should on the tv as I grabbed us some drinks. I grabbed the drinks and put them in the table in front of us. I went and grabbed a blanket, I came back and sat down next to her as a wrap the blanket around us.

"Are you ok?" I asked her. She was being very quiet and I wonder if it had something to do with this morning.

"I'm alright" El responded softly and smiled at me. She laid her head on my shoulder as I took a sip of my drink.

She continued going through the channels. As if she was looking for something. My mind drifted back to memories of mine. How I was locked in a cell if I didn't do what papa said. How I was trapped in the Upside Down. How two years later I ran into Will for the first time in 3 years. How I explained to him everything that happened to me when he asked what I was doing here. How I tried to help him as much as I can until we were separated when the monster went after me.

"Do you want to see him?" El asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at her Tv and saw the static that I was so familiar with. I smiled and nodded.

I quickly got up and began pushing the tv into our bedroom while El grabbed something to use as blindfolds. I turned off the lights and sat down next to El. I usually didn't like doing this but I needed to see them, I needed to see him at least this once. I either do this now or I never will. I tied the blindfold around my head and slipped my hand into El's. She interwinds her fingers with my and we started focusing on the noise until I ask in complete darkness with El.

"Dart, c'mon" I heard a voice say and walked over to see Dustin standing over a glass tank. He wore a ghostbuster outfit and I couldn't help but smile. I didn't get to see what was inside the tank until he covered it back up.

"Lily, I know you never moved" Dustin muttered and I froze where I was, "Will explained everything to me, you might not even hear me. I don't know if you're still in the Upside Down or if you got out but I hope you're ok. It's stupid talking to the air when you might not even be able to hear me. I miss you so much, I always wondered why you left without a word. " I walked towards him as a tear slid down my face. "Dustin" I muttered as I reached my hand out to him but he disappeared. I left in complete darkness, I started panicking and tried to clam down.

I tore off my blindfold as I felt blood trickled down from my nose. El ripped hers off and I pushed myself against the wall. I won't let her see me like this. She was already upset enough and I don't want to add to it.

Seeing Mike took a huge effect on El. I got up and went over to her, I wrapped a blanket around her and helped her on her feet. I pulled her to the living room and sat down on the couch. She laid down and put her head on my lap. I stroke her hair until she stopped crying and fell asleep. I let my tears come.
