My feet were killing me from running and I had my hand intertwined with El's as we trudged through the dead leaves of the forest. The cabin was a bit ahead. I hoped and prayed that tonight was one of the nights Hopper had come home late.

El finally told me what happened to make her run out of the school that fast. She had seen Mike with an orange-haired girl and he was holding her hand. It had upset her greatly.

I didn't even want to look at the cabin as I could already see the slight yellow glow hit the forest floor in front of me. He was going to be disappointed. I looked up to see his tall silhouette in the window and the lighting up of his cigarette.

"Please don't start anything with him. For me." I say turning to El behind me. I see her gulp a little before nodding her head. I gave her a quick kiss on the cheek as I walked faster towards the cabin.

Once El opened the door for us we were immediately greeted by Hopper.

"Friends don't lie. Isn't that your bullshit saying?" Hopper shouts as he slams the front door behind us. El immediately storms off to the bedroom trying to shut the door behind her but Hopper stops it, I walked to the sitting room and stayed quiet.

"HEY IM TALKING TO YOU" Hopper screams towards El as she lets out a huff of breath.

"And you," He says turning and pointing a finger at me," I thought you were better than this, why are you letting her drag you into trouble"

He was an ass. Him telling me that El was dragging me into things. I can make decisions for myself, besides I wouldn't have been able to stop her anyways.

"WELL MAYBE IF YOU ACTUALLY LET US LEAVE THE HOUSE EVERY FUCKING ONCE IN A WHILE WE WOULDNT HAVE TO SNEAK OUT ALL THE FUCKING TIME" I scream as I took off my jacket and throw it in ton my room.

"Don't you use that language with me. Where did you decide to learn that shit?" Hopper asks getting closer and looking frustrated.

"I guess it just runs in the family" I mumbled, I see Hopper get taken back a little before he straightens himself out. I look to El in the corner of my eyes and she raises both eyebrows at me.

"You don't get to talk to me like that Y/N," He says, his tone slightly calmer but still holding just enough anger.

"And you don't get to say you care after I've been physically and emotionally tortured for most of my life. And you weren't around" I say I knew it wasn't his fault. He thought that I was dead then but I wanted it to hit him where it hurt. I'm sick of not having my say.

"I needed to see him, I'm losing my mind being trapped in this stupid house every single day. If it makes you feel any better I didn't see him and he didn't see me" I say as I noticed El staying silent in the other room and I was thankful. It wouldn't help if she joined in on the conversation. I had been building this shit up for the past while now.

"I already told you it's dangerous to be out there" He lets out a huff of breath as l watch his rub the side of his temples.

"You said we could go AND WE NEVER LEAVE. NOTHING EVER HAPPENS" I scream. I'm sick and tired of hearing the same excuse all the time.

"YOU STAY SAFE" Hopper screams back as he slams his hand down on a shelf causing me to flinch.

"YOU LIED"

"I DONT LIE, I FEED, I PROTECT, and ask if for you two to follow 3 simple rules. And you know what, YOU CAN'T EVEN DO THAT" He screams before running off into the living room

"You're both grounded. No TV and Eggos for a week" He says as he throws the Eggos away and pulls the plug out from the TV.

That's when I lost it, That was all I had to make sure everyone was ok, I can't leave him alone for a week. I'll make my self even crazier than I am, And for the first time in a year.

I used my powers. I grabbed Hopper's mind to plug the Tv back in and to walk away.

"No" He screams once l let him out. He unplugs the TV again as he watched the blood pour down from my nose.

"You don't use them on me, you hear? I AM YOUR DAD" He screams. Pointing the finger at me as tears stream down my face.

"If you are my dad, then you'll know to leave me alone," I said and rush off to the bedroom and lock the door behind me. I slumped down the door as El sits next to me and pulls me into her arms as I cried even harder. I hated doing that. I lay my head on El's shoulder as she stroked my hair slightly to calm me down.

"It's ok" She whispers and kisses the top of my head.

"I love you"

"I love you too," I say softly. The sound of the brush hitting the wooden floor was all that I heard throughout the cabin. I felt really bad. Not only had I cursed out my father but I never apologized about my behavior.

I watch as El was washing the dishes at the sink as I walked over to the area of the armchair.

When I pulled the armchair back a little l had noticed the floorboard a little more rose then the others. l fully pushed the armchair against the wall and lifted it to find a bunch of cardboard boxes under the floorboards.

"El can you come here a second," I say as I hear her shoes begin to walk over to me. I look up at her as she raises an eyebrow.

"What is it?" She asks and I shrug. I poke my head under and began to read all the labels on the boxes. Until one caught my eye.

Hawkins lab.

I pulled the box towards me as El helped me pull it out of the floor. Just as l was about the close the floor l had seen another box that interested me.

Y/N Hopper.

I managed to get it out the floor by myself as I looked to see El digging through the Hawkins lab box. I pulled the box open and was immediately hit by the stench of old books. l looked to see a small photo album on the side and I pulled it out. I flicked through the album seeing pictures of Hopper and what looks to be my mom and sister. There wasn't one trace of a picture of me in the photo album until a picture slipped out. It was a picture of me when I was only one year old.

The next photo that slipped out also had the same little girl held in the arms of a younger Hopper. He was my dad. It wasn't until I heard a gasp that l quickly looked El.

She held a picture of a woman and Papa and next to it was a birth certificate.

Jane Ives.

"Jane?" She said looking up at me. I quickly scanned over the paper trying to confirm it or not. El was Jane.

"Your name is Jane," I say looking up with a huge grin. She needed this. She needed to know who she was instead of having a nickname that reminded her of a time not so long ago full of hatred fear.

"Mama," She said as she clutched the photo tightly. She ran up and grabbed the black scarf and wrapped it around her eyes. I decided it was better for her to do this alone.

Jane and Y/N.

We were finally someone. Finally, I knew my real name, not one given to me by my foster parents or the lab, and finally had a family that we know of. For the first time since I had been taken from my friends, from Dustin, I had felt normal. Like I wasn't some weirdo kid with a number name or family who can control people.

I was finally human.
