Cole X Reader - Part 41 (Hand in Hand)

As the other five were still chatting in the café and questioning Zane about the impossible you had survived, Cole stayed by your side and held your hand that had a cannular in it. Sadly you was too tired to talk to Cole, so you remained asleep. All you wanted to do was go home and be in comfortable position, instead of having all of the tubes, wires and noises surrounding you.

"I really wish you'd wake up so I could talk to you, (Y-N). It would be even better if you could come home, because everyone misses you. Wu, Garmadon and Misako are worried about you. And the other five are just begging for you to be ok." Cole tucked his chair in so he was closer to you. "I don't know how I'm here right now, but I am. I had to turn away when I saw you last night because that was a sad picture that can't leave my mind. And yet now I have the courage to hold your hand, talk to you in your sleep and sit beside you." Cole lowered his head as he could feel his eyes tear up. You could sense that Cole was getting emotional by speaking to you.

Cole had stopped talking and kept his head down at the side of your bed, Cole even still held your hand and would possibly not let go. Lightly you squeezed Cole's hand to give him a signal that you was awake, your eyes were still closed but a little bit of muscle strength in your hand can't hurt to cheer your boyfriend up.

"... (Y-N)?... You awake?" Cole lifted his head up. This time you opened your eyes a little to give him another answer. "Ohh my God." Cole stood up and backed up in shock. "Well?.. Give me a hug then." You opened your arms out tiny bit. "I've been so worried... I thought you was gonna... die." Cole came back into give you a hug.

It was a bit of a struggle though, Cole didn't want to hurt you, nor did he want to disturb any of the machinery. Eventually Cole's hug was a success and so was Cole's visit. And as for Cole, he got a little cheeky and lied down with you in your hospital bed so you was comfortably resting on his chest. Cole also stroked your hair slowly and gently, which made you fall asleep in seconds.

It must not have been long after you feel asleep, that Cole did the same thing. After that though, Cole woke up about half an hour later to his phone vibrating in his trouser pocket.

Phone Conversation.

Cole: "Hello?"

Kai: "You still with (Y-N)?"

Cole: "Yep."

Kai: "Well the others and I are thinking of making a move and heading home. You coming with us or do you want to stay here longer?"

Cole: "I'll come with you... You just might want to give me a hand."

Kai: "What do you mean?"

Cole: "Just come down here and help me get up."

Kai: "Err ok."

End of Phone Conversation.

A minute or two later, Kai and the others came over to your hospital room to find a pretty cute picture for a change... Well that was till Jay came up with something funny but also inappropriate.

"Please tell us that she was awake when you got in this position... Because if she wasn't... that would be creepy, as fuuuuuck." Jay cracked his knuckles together. "Yes she was awake! And she was the one that wanted a hug." Cole held his hands out for help. "There is a hug and then there is personal space, Cole." Jay joked about. "Ha ha funny." Cole joked back in a sarcastic tone. "Let's stop joking about the rude, creepiness and let's help Cole out without waking (Y-N) up." Lloyd helped Cole move his arm that was around your shoulders.

Five minutes later.

"Ahh thanks for that, guys." Cole cracked his back and stretched as he stood up. "And the best part is that she didn't wake up." Jay pointed out pretty chuffed. "... I woke up soon as Lloyd moved Cole's arm off my shoulders." You commented and broke your silence. "You was awake the whole time!" All of the ninja spoke out at the same time. "Yep... It made you guys stay longer... Plus Cole is more comfortable... than a hospital bed." You smiled with a little laugh. "I'm not even mad." Cole slapped his hands to the side of his body.
