I can recall standing at your doorstep

Above me, the stars burned a fire

I can remember the feeling that rushed through me

It was not like fear nor ire

But something like trust

I don't know why I felt that

And I wouldn't believe it if you told me

But I guess it was something to believe in,

This strange peace

I could hear the ocean waves roar softly

As I stood there

You had already said the words

And I had seen your smile

It had been a good day,

Yes, it had been

And after a while,

I'd just have to leave

And listen to the birds

But until then,

I'd think about you,

Your smile, your laugh

The times when you're happy,

Those are the times I love most

And I'd never take them for granted

My favorite times indeed

So, after I stood there for a while,

I turned away and left

But it would be a short while

One I'd never forget

Because as soon as tomorrow,

I'd be back

And all those worrisome emotions

That fear, anger and sorrow

Would fade away

At the break of day.
