My eyes flutter open to see the soft light streaming into pools on the floor. A smile still touches my lips and I stretch, bumping the warm body beside me.
"Morning." I whisper as I snuggle back under the blankets.
"Mmmnff." Comes the response.
I smile at Will's sleeping form. I get that feeling again, well rather, that lack of feeling again. That slightly off feeling that I get every once in a while. It's completely disconcerting, that I look at this man that I supposedly love, but am unable to feel anything. I'd be lying if I said it didn't worry me.
The curve of my lips slowly slips down as I will my body to feel something about the guy I'm sleeping with. I want so bad to have Tess and Leo's easy love, do they ever feel like this? Yes being with Will feels natural and when he's with me it's amazing, but it's these quiet moments by myself that I'm finally free to admit- only in my deepest subconscious- that something is missing. Something between us doesn't quite fit.
It's not enough for me to feel like I'm falling out of love for him and therefore leave him rather than lead him on... but there's always that niggling thought in the back of my head that I could do better. No, wait, that sounds wrong. Not better, just, different. I can do different. There's something more but not more out there waiting to be found.
"What you lookin' at?" Will's sleepy voice imitates Joey from 'Friends'.
Just like that there's a spark in my belly and the grin returns to my face.
"Oh nothing, just this grog who promised me breakfast in bed last night..." I tease.
"When did I promise that?"
"Well... last night when you said you'd do anything for me... right before we..." I smile devilishly.
Although his eyes are still closed I can see his signature smirk as he remembers what I'm talking about.
"How about a reenactment." He offers. I laugh softly.
It's been a week since the wedding and we've hardly left the house, much less the room since then.
"Greedy." I poke his chest.
"Only for you." He replies, finally opening his eyes and grabbing my shoulder, pulling me down to lie on top of his chest.
"Oh god, you can be so corny sometimes." I laugh.
"You love it."
"Now where would you get that idea from?" I whisper, kissing along his collar bone. Enjoying the feeling of his chest rumbling under me as he chuckles.
I lie my head on top of his heart and listen. We lie like that for a while, I'm pretty sure he's fallen asleep again. I have no clue how much time has passed but I'm starting to get bored- hey, he's asleep there's not much to keep me entertained and I'm hungry!- when I hear the front doorbell chime.
"Will..." I mumble.
No response.
"Will.." I say a little louder, trying to free myself from his grip. The fact that he's not budging tells me that he's definitely awake.
"Will lemme go!" I half moan, half laugh into his neck. "I need to get the door."
He grumbles something in reply.
"Come on baby, I'll make you breakfast?" I offer. Still no release. I roll my eyes.
"You leave me no choice..." I start with a sigh.
"Hmmm..?" His voice rises to indicate his unspoken question.
I trail my fingers down his chest to his waist.
