The Green Room
Staples Center [Los Angeles, CA.]
February 12, 2017. 9:55 P.M.ELISE
The more steps I took, the more uneasy I became as we slowly approached the green room that Bruno was residing in. I was excited at first, but now I was this close to changing my mind and telling Tessa that I would rather meet him when I go for the job interview. This feeling was new to me because I usually never worry about things like this. Bruno is a human being like myself so why was I getting so worked up because of him?
I stopped the crazy rambling in my mind when I felt Tessa holding my hands to comfort me and bring me out of my overwrought thoughts. "Now's not the time for you to get cold feet! Go on in. He's waiting for you."
Sure, that'll be REAL easy to do. And why was Tessa so calm about this whole situation when she knew how much I liked him? I just didn't understand her at times. If I had known that I was gonna meet Bruno, Elise would of prepared myself better for this encounter. Well, there was no point in trying to turn back now. I couldn't just run away from it.
Tessa knocked on the door and I heard that soft yet smooth voice from the other side. "Who is it?"
"It's me, Bruno!" Tessa answered back.
A tremor slowly coursed through my body, pleasuring all my senses. I've always been one to keep myself intact with my emotions, but Bruno seemed to have pulled that bit of self-control away from my body with his voice alone.
"Come in, Tess!"
Reaching out for the door, Tessa opened it to reveal the very man that I've always wanted to meet. Bruno was standing near the window with the glass pane opened, smoking a cigarette. His hair was blowing slightly in the wind and the moon was full, illuminating its soft glow on his flawless caramel skin and he flashed his signature smile at me. Those dimples of his gave me life like no other and for the second time tonight, he rendered me speechless.
What kind of magic was this man casting on me?
Tossing his cigarette off the balcony, he came back inside the room and Tessa sprinted over to him and gave him a hug. "Great show tonight, Bruno! You did wonderful with both of your performances."
Bruno pressed a soft kiss on Tessa's cheek. "Thanks, Tess. I was nervous as shit doing the Prince tribute, but I'm just glad I pulled through it, though. I live to sing for another day!"
I giggled from his sense of humor. So the rumors about him being a jokester were true.
"Damn." Bruno said as he sauntered over to me, taking in my appearance. "Is this the girl I'm supposed to be interviewing next week?"
"Yes, Bruno." Tessa laughed from how he was behaving. "Yes it is."
Bruno offered his hand out to me. "It's nice to finally meet you, Ms. Elise Dupree."
"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Hernan-"
"Ah-ah-ah!" Bruno stopped me in my tracks before I could even finish. "That's Bruno to you, lil mama. Everyone else calls me that, so why should it be any different with you?"
I was trying to be respectful, but apparently calling him that was a bit too much for him. There was such an amicable aura about this man and his friendliness was comforting, warm, and overall pleasant. I smiled at him and as I reached my hand out to him, Bruno took a hold with a firm grip. Instead of shaking my hand, he slowly pulled it in towards his lips and pressed a small kiss on the back of it. "You're really beautiful, Elise."
I blinked a couple of times before I realized what had happened: Bruno fucking Mars just kissed my hand and complimented me. He was such a sweet guy.
