My gaze followed Bruno's as I searched for the reason that he would want to talk with me alone. It's been a while since that happened but I was not going to let that worry me. On the other hand, Dre was worried bout what could happen if he were to leave us unattended. He switched his focus between the both of us and I was the first one to reassured him. "Dre, I'll be fine. We'll talk and get things straighten out between us."

Realizing that he was no longer needed, he made his way to the door, closing it gently and the atmosphere around slowly began to shift. Before it became too awkward between us, I stood up to gather my things that I had set down before the original meeting began. "Look, Bruno. I know what you're thinking but can't this wait? I have to get ready for the -"

I tried to walk past him, but Bruno used his strength and shoved me back down into the chair. His sudden aggression almost made me topple over and I had to ground my feet to the floor in order to keep my balance. That behavior was unexpected and it was not like him at all to act like that towards me. When I was about to press him for answers, his glare alone silenced any words that would come out of my mouth.

"Sit your ass down." Bruno's voice was so cold that hell could be frozen a hundred times over. "We're gonna have this talk now, Larissa."

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I really didn't want to. It was rare for Bruno to became this angry, agitated, and downright cruel. My brain was playing a cruel trick because he would never show that side to me and yet, I was facing it head-on without a way to escape from it. Even I were to try to leave out the room again, there was no telling what he would do. His emotions are haywire and all over the place right now, but I had to play it cool for the time being.

The last thing I needed to do was to dig a bigger hole for myself and I monitored his movements carefully. Bruno pulled another chair from one of the desks in the office and he placed it right in front of me. Making himself comfortable, he sat down with his arms perched on his knees and his chin rested on the back on his hands. For a few moments that felt like an eternity, Bruno's eyes pierced through my own with such contempt and I wanted him to stop.

He was legit scaring me and it would the second time that someone was able to instill fear in me with such ease. I shrank back into the chair, now fully concerned about my well-being. This side of Bruno was not something I wanted to see and it was unnerving to me.

"Larissa, how long you and I have been friends?" He inquired after the silence around the room had been too intense to ignore.

I was apprehensive about answering him, but stalling would only maddened his already vexed disposition. "Four years, Bruno." I replied calmly.

His mouth was firm, his tongue pushing inside of his jaw and he continued with his array of questions. "And you know me just as well as anyone else in my crew, right?"

I nodded my head, "Of course I do."

"You also know that when I'm dating someone or when my family is around, it's an iron-clad rule to not provide any problems towards them, correct?"

"I. . ." Every question felt as if the air was being knocked out of my chest. The more he inquired about my motives, the more difficult it became to breathe even with the abundance of air being in the room."Yes, I do know that."

"Now then, you wanna tell me why the hell you've been giving Elise such a hard time and why I caught you two about to rip it into each other last week or do I have to force it out of you?" And that callous attitude of his resurfaced again. "I suggest you choose the former."

I wanted to assure him that everything that I was doing was with good intentions. I needed him to understand that much even though there was a chance that he wouldn't take heed to what I was saying to him. "Bruno, it's not what you think. I'm just trying to protect you and I don't think she's right for you."
