ELISE
My previous rage from my encounter with Larissa was finally receding and my sense was slowly coming back to its normalcy. As I ambled down the length hallway, a twinge of pain surged through my left hand and I gently grasped the back of it to temporarily soothe it. I nearly struck someone with that level of strength and it terrified me knowing that I almost broke my promise to Dre about letting him handle the situation.
I was never one to lose my composure so easily, but Larissa took me there and I almost regret not putting my hands on her. Almost. If she thinks I'm the only one with some secrets, then she's got another thing coming. My inquisitive nature took over and began piecing together Larissa's demeanor and her behavior. She believes that no one knows about her private conversations that she has on the phone, but I know.
Sometimes, I would inadvertently catch her in between shifts and whenever she was alone from prying eyes. If it was someone that was apart of Bruno's circle of business and it could help him in the long run, why keep it a secret from everybody else? And why keep Tessa in the dark if she's the one in charge with managing Bruno and assisting him on the tour. At the very least, Larissa should tell her about it.
Something wasn't right about that. And Bruno needed to know about it.
Larissa wanted to air out my dirty laundry, so I was gonna put some dirt in her eye and see how well she puts up with her business being put out there for everyone to know. I know it sounds evil but tough titty suck it, that's was what my grandmother always told me.
My thoughts were interrupted when the heighten noise of heavy shoes approached me from behind. I didn't bother trying to see who it was because it was Larissa. I left her in the locker room after our little verbal altercation and yet here she was again, striding next to me with a determination that only ignorant fools in the streets would have.
"You caught me off guard, Elise, but that won't happen again." Larissa said through her teeth, "This isn't over between us. Not by a long shot."
"You can try and intimidate me all you want, but you don't scare me, Larissa." I peered at her through my lashes. "And you're right, this is only the beginning for us."
"You're nothing but a distractive tramp not worthy of Bruno's time." She sneered.
"And you're nothing than a jealous whore who wants Bruno's time but doesn't get it from him because of your fucked up attitude." I quipped back.
This prompt both of us to stop and swiftly grab each other at the collar of our shirts and pulled each other in close proximity, animosity evident in our eyes. I've had it with Larissa and I wanted nothing more than to beat the living crap out of her and she felt the same way about me. Larissa glared for a moment longer before pulling me even closer to her, "You have no idea what you're getting yourself into, Elise."
"The same could said for you." I furrowed my brow at that statement yet I didn't falter under Larissa's antagonistic ways. "What's the worst you can do to me? If you try to kick my ass, you will fail miserably in that regard."
"Bad things are going to happen, so I hope you're ready for it." Larissa explained. "If not, then you don't need to be protecting Bruno or getting too deeply involved."
"What do you mean by that?" Well, that caught my attention and it only infuriated me more because she was being so vague about her answer. I wanted to know more. "Larissa, who are you, really and who were talking to on the phone earlier?"
Larissa chuckled at me before answering, "That's not important to a little girl like you."
I growled at her for the impertinent reply, "Why you -"
