DEREK POV
Stiles and I were sitting on the roof of the house in a comfortable silence. He ran his hands over his eyes in an exasperated manner for the hundredth time. I turned to him trying to meet his gaze.
"I hate seeing you like this"
"It's whatever Der" he said trying to brush it off.
"You are an adult now what can they do?"
"I can't disobey them they are my parents" one trait Stiles had that you could always count on was his loyalty "But like I said it's whatever. I really don't want to talk about it anymore" he admitted rubbing his eyes. I would usually have left by now and went back to my loft to count down the minutes until we got to see eachother again. But tonight as I stood to leave like I had done a hundred times before Stiles grabbed the sleeve of my jacket stopping me "Can you stay? At least until I fall asleep?" I never wanted to deny Stiles of anything. And though his parents sometime scared the shit out of me I didn't mind doing it this one time. I followed behind him climbing into his bedroom. He went to lock the door while I toed off my shoes and slipped off my jeans. He stripped down to just his boxers and I smiled watching him move into bed with me. After his dad's found out about us the rules became ten time worse and we never had nights like this anymore. I pressed my chest into his back pulling him into me, I was going to enjoy this. Even though 98% was scared his pops would barge in, that 2% let me sleep soundly that night.
DEAN POV
It was the next morning and Cas and I were getting into the impala. Stiles has gotten up hours ago leaving a note saying that he had gone over to Erica's house. I hated keeping secrets from my son. He was eighteen now, and handled everything supernatural pretty well. Yet I still couldn't bring myself to tell him the truth. We finally arrived at Derek's loft were Cas and I paced up the stairs to his front door. I gave it three simple knocks before stepping back and waiting for an answer. When it did open Derek stood there shocked, and confused.
"Uh Mr. and Mr Winchester... Stiles isn't here" Derek Hale was a werewolf, an alpha to be more specific. And yet he still got so nervous around he boyfriends parents I found it extremely hilarious.
"We know" I started " We came to talk to you" the shocked expression etched it's way back onto the young man's face as he stepped aside welcoming us in. It wasn't a bad place limited furniture, a tv and x-box I figured only Stiles used. There was a flannel draped on the sofa that I soon came to find was Stiles' as well.
I turned just as Derek was closing the front door "Look, I'm not one for beating around the bush so I'm just going to come right out: Stiles won't be moving in with you" Cas slapped my shoulder giving me a very angry glare as if to say 'really?'
"We just don't think it's a good idea" Cas said trying to soften the blow.
Derek spoke "Why? He's eighteen, and more than capable of taking care of himself"
"Stiles... Stiles isn't human Derek" there I was again being straightforward as ever.
Derek let out a long sigh. I thought it was one of surprise or shock. No it was of relief, as he moved to take a seat in a nearby chair "I know"
Cas snapped his head up looking at the young werewolf "What?"
"I know th-"
Impatiently I cut him off "Yeah yeah I gathered that, but how do you know?"
"Stiles and I... we were uh" Derek embarrassingly scratched the back of his neck "We were here, at my place just kissing one night, then I told him I loved him for the first time. When I pulled away his eyes, they were glowing purple. So we went to Deaton's and he cleared everything up for us. He told us Stiles was a spark, and what that meant, and what he could do. Since then Stiles has been working on magic with Deaton, that's where he is now"
"How long has this been happening" Cas shoved his hands in his trenchcoat pocket.
"Four-five months"
Dean and I looked at eachother "Why didn't he tell us?"
"He knows that you guys hunt supernatural creatures. Stiles remembers how hard it was for you to accept us being together because of what I am. He figured you only accepted the angel-" Derek was gesturing towards Cas "-because he's the love of your life. Stiles cried for a long time, he just didn't want you guys to hate him"
"We need to get to Deaton's" I huffed fishing my keys from my pocket.
Derek moved picking up his key, and jacket. I didn't think there was a chance of convincing him to stay behind so I didn't try. Then he stopped us with one last question "Before we go, what did any of that have to do with Stiles living with me?"
Cas explained this seeing as though he knew about it first "Our son is going to be a very powerful spark. There's a possibility people will be after him, we just figured we were the only ones able to keep him safe. I see now we were wrong..." There was a long pause as Cas let his voice trail off at the end. He looked up at me with apologetic eyes as I awaited the rest of what had left to say "Stiles can live here if that's what he wants" This time I was the one to glare at him. Had he just made this decision without me? Before I could start an argument in front of Derek, Cas was shoving us out the door.
On our way to Deaton's it had been clear skies just like it had been throughout the week, but as we neared the clinic the ground began to shake a little, and little drops of hail came down clinking against the window.
"What the hell?" I asked swerving the car slightly.
