*I've been gone. I know I'm the worst, but I'm really gonna try to focus on finishing this book. So if I have any fans out there expect a few more chapters*

STILES POV

I came through the door after an exhausting day only to find Derek  bouncing throughout my apartment while Charlotte hung off of him like a jungle gym.  She squealed for him to lift her higher and higher. Her eyes were lighting up in their usual orange way, that still took some getting used to. The way she smiled at Derek, like he was her everything always hurt me, because she had missed so many chances to smile at him because of me. I was still having a hard time moving on from my actions but I was trying.

When she finally noticed me she was sliding down Derek's body and rushing towards me with wobbly feet. I grinned lifting her up into my arms, and blew a raspberry into her neck pulling a laugh from her.

"You look clean. Despite the wild hair" I joked, as I took in her fresh pajamas.

Derek was at my side now, smiling at the both of us "Yeah. We took a messy little bath didn't we"

I glanced down at my watch, it was almost nine thirty "Okay bug time for bed" she whined knowing what that meant "Lottie you can't stay up all night" She looked at me teary eyed and I could tell either a tantrum or a puppy face would come next, I wasn't quite sure which one I was ready for.

I glanced at Derek and he threw his hands up in defense "Hey don't look over here, she doesn't get that from me"

I gave in like I always did. I put on a movie I knew would get her sleepy as we settled in on the couch. Derek who was teetering off to the side ask nervously "Do you mind if I hang around?"

"Sure" and I motioned for him to join Lottie on the other end of the couch. But to my surprise he sat right next to me, tucking an arm right behind my neck. It felt nice, like the old days when Derek would curl up around me on the couch in his loft right before he'd attack my neck, then take off my shirt and--and I needed to focus on the movie.

I had seen it a hundred times before so it was hard to keep my mind from drifting. Especially when Derek leaned over to whisper "What are you thinking about?"

"Huh?"

"You look like you're deep in thought. What are you thinking about?"

"O-Oh nothing. Work stuff" He sat back with a hum and a sly grin as if he knew what was going on in my head.

"Well, she didn't last long" Derek whispered again. He threw his head towards Charlotte and I seen she has been deeply sleeping with the slightest snore.

"How long has she been out?" I stood up to scoop her into my arms.

"Ten minutes into the movie"

I smiled down at my baby I knew so well "Works every time" I took delicate steps to her room careful not to wake her up. She was even more of a grouch than me when she was sleepy. I laid her gently in her bed, careful to brush the curls from her face. She looked just like Derek when she slept, but It was always one of my favorite things to watch her do.

I tossed my shirt in the laundry bucket ready for bed, when I stepped from the hall and found Derek still reclined on the couch. His eyes danced up my body from mole to mole until they landed on my lips. I jumped pulling my shirt back on "I-I'm sorry. I thought you headed out"

He shrugged "Nope still here"

"Is everything okay?" I asked, meeting him back on the sofa. He had the slightest smile playing on his face.

"Everything is fine. We just haven't really had alone time y'know. With you guys settling in and everything"

I nodded "Right. W-Well what did you want to do?"

"Actually, I got your dads to agree to keep Charlotte this weekend so we could maybe- I don't know... go on a date"

I thought the plan over, quite unsure "I-I don't know Derek. I've never been away from Charlotte for more than a few hours"

He slid closer to me taking my hands in his with his rebuttal at the ready "That was before Sti, when you had no one. Now you've got your family back, you've got me" the way his thumb circled the back of my palm like he was trying to get through to me made me finally agree.

"O-Okay, why not" he nodded in victory.

He sat for a while longer, even stayed for a beer while we watched some stupid reruns on tv. He's a ware wolf so It didn't get him drunk but he threw them back anyways. And once again it had me reminiscing about the times we spent together. Like when I'd yell at the tv and all Derek could do was laugh, kiss my cheek and tell me how cute I was. It made me blush and somehow it always ended with him on top of me. Derek was insatiable like that.

"You're doing it again" he hummed.

"Doing what?"

"Daydreaming. What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing, really"

Suddenly Derek was sitting his beer down with a slight clank and turning for me. Then, with a deep velvety voice he was in my ear "I bet I could tell you what you're thinking about"

"O-Oh yeah?"

"Those nights where you'd be laughing so hard and you were so beautiful I just had to kiss you silly" he was inches from my face now, and I wasn't stopping him "Kind of like this" and he was closing the gap between the both of us, and I let him. He pressed his lips to mine in a way that said 'I need this. I need you' and I felt that way to. My hands came to rest on either side of his face pulling him flush against me. He groaned at the action darting his tongue forward to encourage my lips to part. I did so eagerly and then our tongues were bumping and sliding urgently against each other. Breathing heavily I let my fingers snake their way up under Derek's shirt finding his chiseled abs had stayed the same all these years. I drug my nails down his torso and he smile into the kiss seemingly remembering how much I loved his muscles. Without warning, as if my body was acting without telling me I bucked forward grinding our middles together eliciting a moan from the both of us, Derek didn't seem to mind so I tried it again, this time on purpose. His head fell and he groaned into my shoulder, the sensation too much for him. With his lips finally off mine I was able to think straight. Our daughter was just in the next room, and we hadn't even decided what we were yet.

With delicate hands I nudged him from on top of me until we were sitting on opposite ends of the couch "That was-"

"Good" Derek finished "I haven't felt that, in a really long time"

"What? Sex?"

"Yeah"

I cocked my head to the side staring at him curiously "You mean you haven't had sex with anyone since I left" he shook his head unashamed.

"You're my mate Sti. Just thinking about anyone else made me depress" He broke eye contact and stared into space like he couldn't watch me answer the question he was about to ask "W-What about you?"

"H-Have I slept with anyone since you?" he nodded "No. The idea of it-it never felt right" He smiled to himself, happy with the answer.

He glanced down at his watch with big eyes "It's getting pretty late. I should get home, maybe take a cold shower" I laughed, standing to walk him to the door.

"You do that"

He stopped to look at me before leaving "Saturday? At six? We'll drop Lottie with your dads before our date"

"Alright" I agreed, still not believing this was all happening. That I actually had him back.

"Okay" he reassured before delving in for one lingering peck. Then he was gone.
