It was hard for Alec to open his eyes, his head was still ringing. Some thing else too. The images from the fight began to tumble and he sat bolt upright. His phone was buzzing endlessly. He turned it off, yet a little disoriented. The room was dark apart from the moonlight filtering in from the wall size window.

They were in Magnus' office. Magnus, the word put so many thought in Alec's head at once. The foremost thought: worry.

He looked around but couldn't find Magnus anywhere. He sat up, rather stood on his feet and felt a little dizzy. Standing was not a good idea probably but Alec needed to find Magnus. He flipped the lights and found Magnus lying a foot away near the bookcase. The bookcase was open like a doorway.

Alec didn't even bother to roll his eyes at the clique, simply carried Magnus through the door. The other side was a typical warlock workstation with books, a central table full of utensils and a small makeshift bed. Compared to other warlocks' places he had seen, this was relatively clean and classy decorated with modern art on the walls. It could pass for a normal room or makeshift kitchen if Alec wasn't a hunter.

Alec lay him on the bed and looked through the books for basic medicine for burns. The burn on Magnus' hand was already healing but Alec needed to fix it. His mind couldn't comprehend how Magnus could bear to hold the knife for as long as he could because the knife repelled any kind of magic or energy and especially burned demonic.

Trying to wrap his head around what happened, he set to work on the most basic healing medicine he knew. When he was done, he

Magnus could hear the clings and clanks. he tried to comprehend where he was but all he could remember was giving Alec some tedious task. He couldn't even remember what it was. Slowly and steadily he remembered. The three warlocks, finding out Alec was a hunter, killing two warlocks, the knife.

He wanted to move his hand, call Alec's name or do something. He remembered Alec fainting, pulling him through the portal. But that is all he remembered.

"Magnus." a sweet, soft and deep voice filled the darkness in front of Magnus's eyes. He tried to search for its directions but couldn't find it. He tried to reach out but couldn't.

His right arm felt heavy, as if a weight had been put on it. His magic, he could feel it coursing through him. His eyes felt heavy when he tried to move them again.

"Magnus. Please wake up. I swear, I will do whatever you say. Just... wake up." Magnus recognized Alexander's voice.

He wanted to smile to open his eyes. Alec saw the corner of Magnus' mouth twitch. His fingers moved and slowly, very slowly he opened his eyes. The lights in the room were a dim golden glow, quite soothing to Magnus' eyes.

"Magnus?" Alec said tentatively at first but then the sight of Magnus' golden cat eyes took his breath away. Magnus could see the expression on Alec's face change from concern to surprise and realised what happened. He concentrated to bring back the colour of his eyes to an acceptable normal.

"Much better?" Magnus murmured tentatively. Alec was still looking in surprise. If he thought Magnus was beautiful before, nothing compared to how mesmerising he looked a second ago.

"About doing whatever I say..." Magnus trailed off smirking, thinking of ways he could put that to good use.

Alec smiled, "You were awake!"

"I was trying to wake up." Magnus' throat was dry and his voice was still feeble, barely audible.

"You need to get better first." Alec's eyes darted to Magnus' hand and Magnus tried to look too.

He could lift it, his hand was covered in a bandage, the smell of medicine in the air.

Alec got up and moved to the workstation, trying to clear up whatever mess he had created in a hurry to get that medicine made. Magnus sat up looking around.

"How did you find this place?" Magnus didn't want to point out the glaring fact, Alec was a hunter.

"The bookcase door was slightly ajar and you had collapsed next to it." Magnus frowned, he did not remember opening it but he trusted Alec nonetheless. The hunter had saved his life after all.

"Are you not going to ask me about what happened?" Alec shook his head in a 'no'.

Magnus had not expected that. "Did you already know?" Different kind of questions started coming up in his head, the ones he didn't want to think of, the mistrusting questions.

Alec didn't say anything, "Is that why you came in? You knew I am a warlock." Magnus probed, voice casual but his heart pricking at the thought.

Alec shook his head again, his voice small, "I found out, on my second day. When we were in Milan. I was on a mission but then, you were there."

Magnus recalled, "It was you. In the roof." Alec turned around nodded.

Alec had found out and he had stayed. Magnus couldn't help but feel elated but his thoughts turned in other direction.

"The boardroom, the mess, we need to clear it up." Magnus' eyes went wide.

"It's done. I informed the association. They took care of the situation. Turns out that warlock was the leader. We found a lot of information at his house. The whole fiasco is ending as we speak."

Magnus nodded and Alec continued, "The association thanks you, they... um... they wanted to see you but I told them that you were unwell after... after what happened."

Magnus nodded again. They felt silent. Alec turned and worked his way through a more advanced medicine, Izzy had texted him while Magnus admired Alec's broad shoulders and the ripple of muscle he could see underneath the torn scraps. He looked down as inappropriate thought began to creep up.

"Say something!" Alec said in frustration.

"Go out with me." Shocked, Alec's eyes went wide. He turned, slowly but Magnus wasn't looking at him but at the damaged hand. When Alec didn't respond Magnus looked up reluctantly. It was all he could think, to date Alec, to get to know him better.

Alec was standing closer than Magnus had anticipated. He bent down, tentatively taking Magnus' face in his hand.

"Yes." he said softly, touching his lips to Magnus'. The was unsure, careful, fleeting but Magnus pressed himself into it with desperation.
