Love Finds A Way: Malec AU

3. Madzie

The Timeline is shifted, so a lot of things will happen differently.

Magnus and Alec were urgently walking down the halls of the Institute, helping here and there deflecting some shadowhunters from coming in.

Floor by floor, they reached the top and Alec stopped.

"I think I know where Valentine and the child maybe." Alec headed straight for a room in the middle of the hall and entered ahead of Magnus. Magnus was right behind and both were lifted off their feet frozen in mid air.

"Magnus?" the sound of Madzie's voice would have put a smile on Magnus' face but he was frozen. But it only lasted for 2 seconds as both felt release and Madzie ran to Magnus who opened his arms.

The couple of shadowhunters in the room didn't have time to react. Valentine reacted quickly and swung the soul sword which Alec intercepted with a knife. And surprisingly, it broke.

Alec's plan fell into place in Magnus' brain knowing what he had sent Clary to do: plant a copy of Soul Sword.

He picked up Madzie, flicked his fingers and did to other shadowhunters what Madzie had done to them. Nice touch to things without hurting.

He smiled at Madzie and she smiled back. What happened next, happened too fast for any of them to comprehend. Valentine came after Magnus and Alec went after Valentine while Madzie pushed out her hand instinctively like anyone world to save themselves. Only it had the effect none of them saw coming.

When Magnus turned his head, Valentine's frozen hand with a knife's tip was mere inches away from his eye. He stepped back and saw Valentine's body going cold just like the effects of a freezer. And then everything else was frozen too. Frozen cold. Valentine was paper while as his skin started to turn blue, color had drained from Alec's face turning him paper white and the other shadowhunters were starting to loose color.

Magnus himself started to feel chilly pretty fast. He moved out of the way of Valentine's knife, walked outside the door and called softly, "Madzie. You'll be ohk."

The girl opened her eyes, lowere her hand and looked at Magnus. The next thing he heard was a painful cry from Valentine and knew he had to go inside to help Alec but he wanted to put Madzie to safety first.

He smiled none-the-less, "I am here and you know it is going to be ok. Right?" She nodded with a smile and Magnus sighed in relief.

"Now I want you to go out and go home. Will you be able to do it, like how I taught you?" Madzie smiled and slowly vanished from Magnus' arms. The little girl was one powerful witch Magnus had seen in a while.

Magnus took a deep breath and opened the door  to be met with a horrible site of Alec battling three. He jumped right in and met the two sidekicks with some special moves of his own. They didn't see it coming. Magnus' ball of electricity hit one of them in the middle of the stomach and he dropped like dead, knocked unconsious. The other one moved out just in time but lost his balance, giving Magnus the opportunity to hold him down with magic. He could feel the drain in his legs but the adrinaline kept him going.

When Magnus turned around, Valentine was lunging for the sword and Alec made no move to stop him, smiling slightly. As soon as the sword touched Valentine's hand, it vanished and Alec took that moment to overpower the man.

It took about one hour for the whole intitute to calm down, as more and more shadowhunters got captured while others escaped. Magnus stayed only long enough to ensure that Alec was safe and departed in a haste to see Madzie. Alec saw his back disappearing as he addressed his fellow shadowhunters, a lingering disappointment.
