Summer's POV:
"So that would have made him like 23!" She yelled counting on her fingers.
"24, he was 24 at the time." I said knowing full well it would only make things worse.
"Eewie you, you know did it with an older guy a much older guy! That is so nasty!" she yelled before storming out of the room.
"I am so screwed up." I mumbled into my hands. That didn't go as well as I had hoped I thought. I sat there for god knows how long before April silently, reappeared. She sat in the seat directly in front of me, "I'm sorry I didn't mean to react like that it's just, I always imagined my mother as someone you know, older and more, well, the business type. But I'm curious how you and my dad met?" She asked.
I looked up into those eyes that reminded me so much of Anthony's, then sighed. "April, are you sure you want to know?" I asked, she nodded without any sign of hesitation. I nodded hesitantly then began.
"When I was 14 years old, my best friend of the time was, Ryan. We met at summer camp and immediately clicked and became very close. When towards the end of camp we learned we lived very close to one another, we would visit each other daily. One day when I was in Ryan's room with him, waiting to go swimming, the front door opened. There was shouts and laughter drifting up the stairs towards Ryan and I.
Ryan waited a moment then took my hand and led me down the stairs towards the front door. Standing there enveloped in Rose's (Ryan's mother) was a tall, handsome young man. Ryan ran to him where the two playfully wrestled, when they finally finished Ryan turned both of them to face me. "Summer, this is my 22 year old brother, Anthony. Ant this is Summer." Both boys were beaming at me, "Ah so this is mysterious camp girl!" Anthony played, and then he took two strides towards me and pulled me into a tight hug.
Later that day Anthony drove Ryan and I to their secret swimming hole. While there Anthony would do flips of the docks, and Ryan would mutter "Show off." In the end we all laughed so hard we cried. But later on in the summer Ryan got a girlfriend, he stopped hanging out with me as much, so Anthony would offer to take me places or hang out with me.
Two years later Ryan and Christine were still dating, and Anthony and I were still hanging out whenever we had the chance. By this time I was 16, Ryan was 17, and Anthony was 24. Well one day in the middle of the summer Anthony and I were laying out on the dock, after a day of swimming. I propped myself up and looked at him, "Ant," I whispered he mumbled acknowledging that he was listening, "I just thought you should know I like you more than just a friend." I looked at him and saw him open his eyes so I continued, "whenever I'm around you I get butterflies in the pit of my stomach, and for a while I ignored them. But, I can't anymore Ant, because I love you."
I continued to look at him; his reaction though was almost immediate though. He leaned towards me crushing his lips onto mine he leaned back and looked at me, "I love you too, Summer." he whispered. I grinned and he continued to kiss me, that night I gave him everything. By the time I got home it was almost two, but neither of my parents were waiting for me because they trusted Anthony. The next afternoon around 1 Anthony called. "Summer get over here now." He said his voice sounded scared and angry. From his tone alone I rushed over to his parent's house. Before I had even had the chance to knock the door swung open and I was pulled into the cool air conditioned house. He shut the door with his foot and continued to pull me towards his room. As soon as we reached his room, he pushed me onto his bed and closed the door.
