Chapter 8 - Fever

Demi's pov

Maddie came down and sat next to me. "Hey Mads how did the talk go?" I asked removing my eyes from the Tv.

"Good just one problem."

I frowned and pulled my eyebrows together. "What is it?" I asked panicked. "Dem calm down,she just has a fever you need to take care of her and this will be good for bonding plus she agreed to be nicer to you. Okay?"

"Okay, I swear your not 18 you talk like your 30 something."

"I don't even know if I should be offended or not." I laughed and shook my head at her. "So what is she doing now?"

"She's sleeping but since she has a fever she should be awake complaining it is too warm." I nodded. "I think you should go check I've got to leave for college in 10 mins." She said glancing at the clock on the wall. "Okay I will."

I began climbing upstairs to the bedroom that Charlotte has offically claimed her's and knocked on the door. No answer. I opened to find Charlotte kicking the blanket off her in her sleep.

"It's too damn warm in this stupid house." She groaned with her eyes closed,just as Maddie predicted. I walked over to her side of the bed,shaking her awake. "Babygirl?"

She opened one eye and a tear fell down her face. "Oh baby." I got on the bed with her and held her. "Charr I'm so sorry for screaming at you."

"It's okay." she mumbled in my chest. "What hurts baby?"

"My head, my chest, my muscles are aching. My butt even hurts and I'm too hot." She commented. "Okay want something for your head and do you want medicine?"

"Yeah please.About damn time you ask."

I laugh and walk downstairs to find Maddie gone and I returned upstairs with an ice pack and two pills in my hand with a bottle of water.

I entered Charlotte's room to find her sitting up sneezing, like alot. "Hey baby here are your pills and ice pack." She groaned while taking them. I placed the icepack on her head,it wasn't too cold so I didn't have to wrap it up.

"Thank you.This feels so good." I rubbed her back gently. "Go to sleep babygirl, I love you."

"I love you too Mommy." What? My heart skipped a huge beat there. "What did you say babygirl?"

"I said I love you Mommy now let me sleep my whole body hurts." I smiled. "Okay princess. I gotta call your dad I'll be right back."

"Whatever." She mumbled.

"Nick?"

"Demi? What's wrong? Is it Charlotte? What did she..." He rambled.

"Nick it's okay she hasn't done nothing. I'm just saying that she has a fever and plus she called me mommy. I'm so happy right now Nick."

"Oh My God! Are you serious?"

"Positive!" I smiled big even though he couldn't see me.

"No way! How did she..."

"Mommy?" Charlotte whimpered. "Mommy my head hurts alot."

"Wait Nick hold on." I spoke into the phone. "Come here babygirl." She shuffled over to me whimpering slightly because of the pain. My poor baby. I sat her on my lap and rocked her holding the phone to my ear again. "Yeah Nick?"

"Can I speak to her please?" He asked unsure.

"Yeah one minute your gonna be on loud speaker."

"Okay."

"Hey baby your dad wants to talk to you." She nodded with her eyes closed. "You can speak Nick she's listening."

"Hey babygirl it's daddy, you okay there?"

"N-No but Mommy's gonna make me better." I smiled at her comment. "Okay princess do you want me to go to L.A?"

"Y-Yes please daddy,my head hurts and please bring Freddie my dolphin toy. Remember the one mommy gave me it's on my bed,I forgot it."

"Okay princess will do. I love you."

"I love you more daddy."

She fell asleep, while I rocked her. "Nick?"

"Yes beautiful?" I smiled. "Thank you so much for Charlotte. I can't believe she still has the toy dolphin I gave her."

"Yeah it reminded her of you so much, she cried every night with it missing you."

I instantly felt gulity. I sighed. "I love you Nick."

"I love you Demi so much. Bye Honey."

"Bye baby." I said before hanging up. I bit my lip missing his soft lips on mine. "Mommy you love Daddy still don't you?" Charr whispered. I nodded. "You have no idea." I told her back.

She snuggled in the crook of my neck. I missed all the years comforting her and now she's here. "I love you Mommy so much."

"I love you more babygirl." I held her tight as we fell in deep sleep. I wonder where Brooke and Dani are at. Ehh I'll check on them later...

I climbed upstairs to check on Brooke and Dani. I walked inside the game room to find them talking. "Hey babygirls,are you okay?" 

"Yeah sure." They said in unsion.

"Errm girls would you mind going to grandma's for the rest of the holiday? It's because your sister has a fever and I don't want you getting sick."

"Okay mom." Dani replied going to her room to pack. Brooke walked slower with her head down.

"Brooke?Baby wait." She turned around. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing I'm okay."

"Brooklyn what's wrong?" She sighed and shut the door."You really want to know?" I nodded.

"Mom it's the first day Charlotte has been here and you haven't even spoke to us.Except from now. I'm not jelous,I'm just saying that if it gonna be like this everyday then I don't want to live here." And with that she walked out the door.
