"So... your parents are gone?" Dan asked as he sat next to me. The chief let him stay with me overnight, making sure I wasn't alone.

"Yep. I have no clue where they are... or even if they're alive." Jane spoke back to him after a few minutes went by. She just couldn't put her finger on it... where she had seen that clown before.

"Do you have any idea who could have taken them?"

"Probably the clown, you idiot." Jane barked back, looking down at the note for the 10th time. "I'm just thinking... 'Where have I seen-'" Then it hit her. Her eyes widened as a vision faded in. It was of a dark house, the dark house from her... nightmares. She could only watch as the clown walked forward, teeth dripping with blood and saliva. The look in its eyes were the same as what she saw tonight.

"Jane?" Dan asked her, snapping her out of the trance.

"Do you remember me talking about those nightmares?" She quickly asked as she hopped up from the bed. Dan only nodded, raising an eyebrow. "The clown. HE was the one who was in them, chasing me."

"Wait? Are you serious?" Dan gasped, standing up as Jane put on the jacket the chief had given her. "Where are you going?" Jane's hand was just on the handle when she stopped. She turned towards Dan and lowered her head. She looked up at him, narrowing her eyes.

"I'm going to go find that big bitch." Suddenly, the door opened and almost smacked Jane in the face.

"What are you doing, Dan?" A familiar voice asked. Jane hopped out from behind the door to see Mrs. Locovich, Dan's mother. "You needed to come home an hour ago." Mrs. Locovich turned to see Jane coming out from the door, and her smile was bigger than a bus. "OH! Jane dear! Are you alright? Where are your parents? Are they alr-"

"MOM!" Dan yelled. "She's fine. She's been fine for the past 2 hours. We were just going to go on a stroll around the block... right?" Dan made eye contact with Jane and she sighed.

"Yep. Just around the block." Jane said as she walked out the door.

"We'll be right back. Ask the chief if you have any questions." Jane stormed out of the building and watched as the moon set off in the distance. The light from the sun just behind the trees seemed to calm her down, giving her a sense of determination. She sat down on the curb and looked down at her hands. Dan sat down beside her and patted her shoulder. Jane looked over at him, and he smiled.

"I-"

"Don't worry... we'll find them." Dan said, nodding. Jane smiled back at him and rested her head on his shoulder as they sat.

"I wanted to thank you... for all that you've done for me. Especially when you stood up against Bowers." Jane whispered, closing her eyes. Dan had begun to talk, but she couldn't hear him. She was slowly falling asleep, until...

Jane snapped up, panting. She around, a feeling of dread in the pit of her stomach. Dim light shined through the cracked windows beside her, glass scattered across the floor. She slowly stood up, using the windowsill as a support. She looked around the room, a chill running down her spine. She stood there for a while, looking down at her shaking hand. She clenched her hand closed and looked up at the door, and could have sworn something moved in the hall. She quickly walked towards the door, peeking around the corner to see a glimpse of a frilled neckpiece turning a corner.

"Hello?" Jane slowly walked down the hall, the wind hissing in her ears. Her footsteps echoed down the empty rooms, the old building seeming to shake with each step. Then she heard it. It was quiet at first, then it became louder as she neared an open door. She set her hand on the door and peeked in and froze in fear of what she saw. There, crouched in a corner, was what looked like a man, a bloody arm in his hands. She quickly moved as the man turned his head quickly, yellow eyes glowing in the dark. Jane sprinted as fast as she could, and heard the creature coming after her. She threw and knocked over as much as possible, until she reached the stairs. She didn't even hesitate to jump over the railings. She landed and stopped to catch her breath. By the sound of it, the creature wasn't following her anymore. She sighed and turned back towards the door. The hand grabbed her throat, lifting her off the ground. Jane clawed as the creature came out of the shadows, blood dripping from sharp, jagged, teeth protruding from its mouth. Saliva dripped from the creatures lip, dripping into its frilled neck piece of its clothes.
