Chapter four

I was woken up by a knock on my bedroom door which sounded louder than usual as my head pounded from the sound, my head and body was killing me and I didn't even drink that much I suck so much! I rubbed my face as I looked to the door watching it open to reveal my dad and he looked a bit frustrated "Lola it's 5 in the afternoon and you are not up yet, tell me what went on at that damn party" my dad lectured he never really gets mad especially with me but of course this time was different I went against what he told me not to do and now I was regretting it a lot mostly because of him but also because of the throbbing on my brain as I looked at him throughout squinted eyes seeing his hands on his hips "I'm sorry dad I just wanted to have fun" I told him hearing him sigh his hands fell off his hips and his whole expression changed "I understand but I wish you would have told me you were I probably would've been fine with it you could've gotten hurt while you were drinking and I would have had no idea about it" he explained to me making me feel worse than I did as sat on my bed "I know dad I'm sorry" I mumble through my hands as I covered my face "just don't do it again darling, do you need anything? Aspirin? Water?" He asks me and I shrug feeling my throat start to get dry "water please" I say voice sounding croaky from the dryness that began to form in my throat and he nodded his head patting my leg as he left to get me my water and I decided to get out of bed to change since Chaz was gonna be picking me up soon I wanted to be ready in time, as I searched through my dresser drawers I heard my dad knock on my door again as I looked to him quickly slipping on some shorts "here's your water, also that guy is here for you. Chaz is it?" He tells me as he wanted to make sure his name and I nod my head "yeah tell him I'll be out in a moment" I tell him and he nods handing me my water "I already invited him in he seems like a nice enough guy plus I have to go to work I probably won't be home until midnight so if you do go out again please be careful and don't do anything like last night" he explains to me as he gives me a little lecture and I nod my head with a smile "I won't dad don't worry, be safe at work okay?" I tell him and he smiled giving me a hug before kissing the top of my head "I will darling, have a nice night" he tells me and I tell him the same waving to him as he left my room and I heard the front door close. As I searched through my closet trying to find a shirt good enough to wear I heard footsteps getting closer to my room "Lola are you almost ready? The movie starts at 6:00" I hear Chaz's voice and I feel myself start to get nervous as I continued to search looking to the door once I heard the footsteps stop and I saw Chaz standing there hands in his pockets as he looked at my room then to me and I tense up "uhm yeah sorry I can't find a shirt" I mutter still looking for a shirt hearing him chuckle lightly "mind if I come in?" He asks making me look at him seeing a half smile on his face and I shake my head "no go ahead" I say almost forced as I watch him walk in and sit in my bed "I like your posters" he says bouncing lightly in my bed "thanks they were all my dad's old posters from when he was 16" I say laughing slightly at the thought and I hear him laugh softly "I'm gonna go change into this shirt" I say as I go to walk to my bathroom but he stops me by shaking his head "I'll leave so you can get changed, I'll be waiting at the door" he tells me making me smile as I watch him stand "okay" I say to him watching him smile as he left my room and I stripped off the tank top I had on sliding on a random shirt I managed to find that was clean and I looked at myself in the mirror before walking out my bedroom seeing Chaz leaning against the front door "all ready" I say with a smile snapping him back into reality as he looked at me "let's go" he says opening my front door and we walk out I shut and lock it behind me following Chaz to his car getting in the passenger seat and I instantly grab the CD casing and look through it deciding on nirvana as soon as I put it in Chaz skipped to the fourth song making me smile as I heard the bass guitar instantly remembering what song this was "mom and dad went to a show they dropped me off at grandpa joe's" Chaz sang along to the song making me giggle and as the chorus started up we both started to head bang slightly as Chaz drove off heading to the theater "grandma take me home, grandma take me home" we both sang I couldn't stop giggling as I listened to him sang he was joking around trying to sound like Kurt but a little more goofy it made me smile as I watched him tap his fingers along to the music against his steering wheel "this is probably their best song ever" he says and I laugh nodding my head "oh definitely" I say with a soft giggle hearing him chuckle under his breath. As we teach the movie theater Chaz turns off the music as he finds a place to park in the small parking lot across the street from the theater turning off his car once he found one and we got out walking to the theater entrance, we picked out our snacks of course getting pop corn and sodas we raced each other to the show we were seeing I almost dropped my popcorn in midst of it causing a laugh from Chaz as we walked down the aisle between the seats and sat down as the movie started to play.

"Pizza or McDonald's?" He asked me as we were stopped at a red light on the right of us was a little pizza place and on the left of us was McDonald's I wanted both honestly I was starving from not eating anything all day "how about both?" I suggest with a soft laugh as he chuckled nodding his head as the light turned green he turned into the pizza place, parked his car, and went inside while I waited for him; he came out with the pizza putting it in the back of the car and then he got in driving over to McDonald's as he ordered our food while I stared off out the window until he handed me our bags and drove off to the park, I loved going to a park at night it was peaceful and nice most of the time. I held the pizza and paper bags in my hands as I waited for Chaz to find a flashlight watching as he searched I in his trunk "ahah!" He shouted holding up a flashlight and I smiled as he turned around to me "let there be light" he said before turning it on and closing his trunk as we walked to one of the concrete picnic tables I sat on the seat as Chaz sat down as well placing the light on the table it didn't do much but light up a very small area on the table but I suppose it was better than nothing "so how'd you end up moving here?" He asked me and I shrugged "my dad got a new job out here as a mechanic he had been looking jobs everywhere and he happened to get a call from one of the auto shops here" I explained to him as he nodded "cool, I bet that was exciting" he says a mouth full of pizza and cheese burger and I laughed shrugging my shoulders "not really I didn't want to move but I guess it all worked out if we didn't move I wouldn't have met you and Mike" I say to him and he laughs softly "true that's probably the best thing that's ever happened" he joked and I giggle nodding my head "it truly is" I laugh finishing my pizza and fries "well I'm full of pizza and cheese burger and I can't eat anymore" he laughs groaning as he patted his belly making me laugh "you wanna walk around the park?" He asks me and I shrug nodding my head "sure" I say simply I didn't know why I was getting nervous or more so tensed up as we began to walk on the large field talking about random things. It felt like we've been there for hours which I hope wasn't true just for my dad's sake, I heard a phone ringing looking to Chaz as he reached in his pocket answering his phone "hey Mike what's up?" I hear him say as I look to the ground "do you wanna hang at Mike's? He managed to get away from his family and wants to hang out" he asks me explaining as well and I nod my head swallowing away the hard lump that stuck in my throat "yeah we'll be there in a few man" he tells him before closing his phone and putting it back in his pocket and we walked back to his car leaving the park to Mike's. I sat in the living room on the couch I was so tensed up sitting in the middle of them they both had their arm behind my head resting on the couch I didn't know why I was so tense around them right now I know them fairly well enough now I suppose, maybe it's the fact I've never hung out with guys alone ever always just at school or with other friends so this was all new to me, "what do you guys wanna do? The tv is getting boring" Chaz asks as I look at them both "we can try to find another party or something" Mike suggests and I get even more nervous as I remembered what I told my dad "I don't think Lola wants to do that dude" Chaz said mentioning at my obvious tense up and I laugh "we can go to a party but I'm not gonna drink or anything" I tell them and Mike shakes his head "nah it's cool we can go to the cafe" mike said and I nodded with a smile "yeah I haven't been there yet I think it'd be fun" I say as Chaz chuckles patting my lap before standing to his feet "let's go angel face" he said giving me a little nickname from last night making me roll my eyes "yeah angel face" mike said as well picking me up and I sighed as he carried me out to Chaz's car, this is gonna take some getting used to.
I sat in the backseat watching in amusement at them singing and rocking out to limp bizkit's break stuff "give me something to break!" Chaz sang headbanging to the music as mike laughed "how 'bout your fucking face!" Mike sang as well finishing the next part of the lyrics and I shook my head leaning back in my seat, these guys were quite possible the coolest people I've ever been around the coolest guys I've ever been around and absolute sweet hearts even if we've only known each other for 3 days I somehow felt close to them but still nervous that's probably because they're guys and I being the antisocial human being I was I didn't hang around many people especially guys I only had maybe 3 guys friends throughout my lifetime and it was all when I was in middle school, I sighed as Chaz stopped in front of my house I didn't want to go home I wanted to still hang out with them even though my dad was probably worried I didn't care at the moment "I told my dad I'd be at a party tonight so we can still hang he'll just think I'm at the party" I tell them as Chaz looks back at me "you sure? There isn't much else to do and Mike has to go back home to his family" Chaz asked me and I nodded looking down at the floor "we can hang at your house we can have a movie night or something I don't know" I suggest to him and he nods a smile curling on his lips "a two people party" he joked as he laughed making me smile nodding my head "yeah" I mumble and I watch as he pulls away from my house going to drop mike off before head back to his house.
