The world was red. The werewolf glared around the forest, saliva dripping from his slightly parted jaws. His teeth gleamed in the light of the full moon, deadly sharp and menacing. His triangular ears stood erect and alert, his nose twitching as he scented the air. His tail was held low and straight, a few inches above the ground.
Suddenly, his head whipped around to the side, as his nose picked up on a warm, moist scent. A figure moved into the werewolf's line of vision, glowing an ultraviolet red with blue, green and purple points. The werewolf tensed, anticipating the passing of his prey.
As the figure drew closer, he drooled, the venom in his saliva burning the plants it fell on. His breath puffed out in front of his face, creating a small cloud. The figure froze, and the werewolf pounced.
The boy leapt away, leaving the werewolf with a mouthful of air. The guy ran, with the wolf chasing him, his breath puffing out in labored gasps. The figure tripped, splaying out on his hands and knees. He scrambled to his feet and fled, but not before the werewolf caught up with him.
The werewolf's teeth closed on the boy's shoulder, punching through the coat and flesh underneath. The blood hit the wolf's teeth and tongue with a warm, delicious taste. But something about the taste made him stop, loosening his grip.
The boy shook him off and fled as the werewolf shook his head, his vision clearing from blood red to the way the world regularly looked. The moon sunk beneath the horizon, and the werewolf felt the pain of his fur pulling into his body, his bones and organs shifting, his ears moving down to the side of his head and changing shape.
He watched his claws transform back into their normal, chewed state. He licked his teeth, which had shrunk and flattened out, getting the last bits of blood off them. "Oh, crap." he said. "What have I done?"
