The Girl

I'm the girl,

Who is easy to amuse,

The loud one,

The funny one,

But I'm also the girl,

That sits by herself sometimes,

Likes peace and quiet

Enjoys curling up with a book,

I'm the girl,

Who is sensitive to certain things,

I'm horrible with jokes,

I get nervous when I have to ask or say something to a teacher,

And I sometimes end up in tears,

Because the words get clogged in my throat,

All you can hear is stuttering,

Staring down at the marble floor,

Embarrassed by my actions,

I never know how to stand up for myself,

I never get the last word,

I never show the real me,

And all I can do,

Is return back to my corner,

In the darkness.
