( Commas are purposely not in this poem.)
Today you said you loved me
You smiled, you know the one where your eyes crinkle
The natural smile
You hugged me
You smelled like cinnamon
The smell that wandered on your shirts that you let me borrow
On your pillow
It smells nice
Two days later
You avoided my gaze
You faked a smile
And when I hugged you
You smelled like perfume
I didn't question it
Because I loved you
The next day
You didn't acknowledge me
You didn't smile
The only thing you said was goodbye
I could only watch your back
As you packed your cinnamon smelling shirts
And all of my borrowed sweatshirts
I never saw you after that day
But the only thing I think of when you come to my mind
Is what did I do wrong?
