Zonnique

I hugged Romero tightly, happy that he showed up. Kami wanted him to come so I invited him. Besides I haven't seen him in awhile now. We embraced and pulled away from eachother. Honestly I almost forgot Zoe was here which is horrible. But maybe I can get them to talk and try to be 'friends'. They were once cool before he thought Ro had something to do with him getting shot. Zoe can be very unpredictable sometimes. I grabbed his hand and walked back over to the booth.

"Zoey look whose here." I say with a bright smile.

"Oh the nigga who you were fucking around with."

"Zoe!" I snapped starring at him in disbelief.

"What are you talking bout'? I wasn't fucking around with Nique." Romero scoffed. "But I could if I wanted to."

"Oh my god.."

Zoey laughed. "Right, that's funny because-"

"That is enough." I gritted through my teeth and glared at the both. I cannot believe them right now. "Romero give us a moment please."

He walked off to Kami, giving her the present. I grabbed Zoey's hand and stormed to the nearest bathroom. We went inside the large stall and stood there. Frustrated, I rubbed my temples and paced back and forth.

"Seriously Zoe! You just had to say that huh?"

"I don't give a fuck. Why is he here anyway?" He asked in a agitated voice.

I looked at him. "Because that's my bestfriend and you're my boyfriend. I'm sick of this beef you guys have because its not that serious. Can you please just be nice for me?"

"No Zonnique.

"Please?" I whispered, lightly grabbing his package.

Eventually he agreed and I was satisfied with that. We headed back out to the playroom. There was Romero bringing something inside, it was a cage. I raised my eyebrow and walked over to where the kids were. They all surrounded Kami as Ro sat the cage on the ground. He opened it up, allowing a cute little Pomeranian puppy walk out. It was adorable. I know Kami has been asking for a puppy for awhile now.

"This is for me?" Kam asked in disbelief, with her eyes nearly bulging out the sockets.

"Yep, she's all yours. You gotta name her too." Ro chuckled.

"Omg! Thank you so much Uncle Ro." She squealed and hugged his neck tightly. "I'm gonna name her Madison."

"Aight, but you gotta take care of her. Make sure she eats, uses the bathroom and baths. It's a lot of responsibility Kami."

"Okay." She smiled, picking up the puppy and showing her friends. "Look guys!"

"So cute." One girl said.

"You totally have to dress her up." Said another.

"Ro that was so sweet. Thanks for doing that for her." I smiled looking over at him.

He shrugged. "Its nothing but I got a game tomorrow so I'll see you around." With that he walked out, shaking his head. What was that about?

Three days later.

I pulled up to the airport, with my glasses over my face. I tried to refrain from crying. Unfortunately Zoey has to go back to New York because he has to get back to 'work' and his son. It feels like he just got here and now he has to go. I'm going to miss him holding me every night, saying he loves me, and just being there period. Even the petty arguments we have. Zoey looked over at me and turned my face towards him.

"I know you're not crying."

"No.." I sniffled.

"Nique I'm coming back to visit in about two weeks. Stop crying yo." He wiped my face with his thumbs and kissed me passionately. I sighed as we both pulled away.

"Do you really, really have to go?" I asked sadly.

"Yes. I stayed with you for about four days. But soon as I get back I'll skype you or something. Me and Dante."

I smiled slightly. "Okay.."

We kissed once more before he got out the car. I watched as he walked off, putting his bucket hat on. It was sad to see him go but he has another life back in New york. He asked me if I'd ever come back. Honestly I think its best if I stayed out here in L.A. Better schools for my sister and we're safe out here. Zoey's life is N.Y. all day. That's where he gets his money, where his family so I'll just have to deal with this long distance relationship. Once he wasn't in sight anymore, I sighed and drove off. Well at least I got some before he left...
