I looked at him with disbelief, trying to digest what he just said.

Coronation....what coronation?

I took a step back away from him as I looked a the beautiful dress in front of me. I felt a cold breeze go up my spine and goosebumps appeared on my arms which made me slowly raise my arms up and cross them over my chest.

 Emerson took a hesitant step towards me while he scanned my face, probably looking for any signs of emotion, and let me tell you I was feeling a lot.

"We can still discuss things later if you'd like?" He said calmly which made me scoff.

His face remained blank and I couldn't read anything off of him. He crossed his arms as well and stood up straighter. 

"By the way your face looks right now I'm guessing now is not the time to pop the question" He sighed as he walked the opposite direction away from me. I could basically hear my heartbeat in my ears as I thought his last statement.

Did.....Did he mean the BIG question?

"Marriage" his tone sounded soft.

My eyes met his gaze as and I could feel my legs shaking, like something deep within me was screaming yes over and over again. 

He gently placed his hands on my shoulders and I slightly jerked away from his sudden intrusion into my bubble. He let out a deep sigh as he noticed my response.

"What are you doing?" my voice didn't sound like mine as I let out those simple words. It sounded unnerved and dry. My body moved quickly away from his hold as I walked over to the small window that was to the left of me.

"What do you mean 'What am I doing?' I want to be with you, my mate, my Luna" His voice sounded precarious as he said Luna.

His voice made my heart tug and I looked back at him "Why does everyone call me that? I'm not anything like a Luna or a mate, I'm not..." My gaze fell back to the dress, the beauty was enchanting and it felt like it was drawing me in.

"Yes you are" he held a hand out for me

"I want you to accept that and be with me and have everything" He motioned his other arm around the room towards the dress.

"But I'm not your mate!" I shouted as I back away from him. "Stop calling me that.....please" my voice faded off at the end.

I'm not a werewolf, which means I'm not a Luna or his mate

"Why? Does it scare you to be in a committed relationship" His tone rose as hurt passed in his eyes.

"No! it doesn't" Kaiden's face passed over my thoughts 

"Then why?" He stood near the window across from me and ran his fingers through his hair.

"Because I don't even know you, it's a preposterous idea," I said as I nonchalantly made my way over to the door. 

Emerson saw through my plan and stood directly in front of me again. "We can get to know each other, while you're here and then-"  My phone interrupted him as music erupted from its speakers,

Given my new chance to escape, I quickly picked up the call and promptly looked at the name.

"Hello?" I tried to hide the excitement in my voice as I furiously walked away from Emerson.

"Hey, are you on your way back using the port key or with tele?" The connection on his side was kind of staticky but what do you expect from living on a mountain surrounded by trees.
