Council

I decided to walk back to my house instead of teleporting, much to my grandmother's discretion. She wanted me to go back to the castle immediately after lunch but I told her I wanted to pick some wildflowers on my way back home. It was just an excuse so I could put off going back to the werewolf kingdom, I really didn't know how to face Emerson again after our argument.

It doesn't help that I basically shot down his marriage proposal and then evaporated away by falling down a staircase.

I mentally groaned and kicked some loose rocks on the road, one landing a few feet in front of me and the other went off towards the tall grass. I just need to put the personal matters to the side and focus on finding that stupid book and schedule a council meeting with him.

Not as Aliana and Emerson, but as the next High Priestess of the Elder Council from the Silver Ravens Clan and the Alpha King. I have to get information about this so-called united rogue pack and figure out how to protect my people.

The last thing any supernatural being wants is another war, we just recently ended the last one and now someone else is trying to brew another one.

But why attack witches? If someone wanted to get a definite response, they could have attacked vampires or a more powerful race. It doesn't make sense, ever since we declared ourselves neutral, our businesses lie with keeping the peace. It'd make sense to attack someone hotheaded like the werewolves or chimeras.

My cabin was starting to come into view which made me sigh. Now it's time to start figuring out what to do next, I've already decided to put my people before myself, my personal dilemma can wait so finding the book is going to be postponed for a while.

Walking up the stone steps I could hear muffled yelling from behind the door.

"Lyredy just give him a chance!" Lydia's voice resonated outside

That's all I heard until Lyredy opened the door and almost walked right into me, she looked pissed so I instantly jumped out of her way. She lept right off the steps and shifted, her clothes tearing apart and falling on the gravel is all that remained while she ran off into the forest.

Lydia came running out of my house and looked at the ruined clothes and then to me.

"She needs to stop being so difficult" was all she said to me as she started picking up the scraps of clothing.

She looked angry as well so I just decided to go inside. Which by the way, is no easy thing to do apparently.

Daniel was sitting on my couch while running his hands through his hair. He didn't look like his usual happy self, I felt bad for the poor guy. Lyredy isn't an easy person to deal with, and he's not in an easy position right now either, considering that Emerson is probably going to give him hell for letting me escape. Not that he let me, in his defense he did try to stop me.

I took a seat next to him and he looked at me for a brief moment and then gave me a weak smile "I'm sorry for that Luna, It's just...."

I waited for him to answer and he looked at the ground

"She's trying to reject me" his voice cracked at the end as his eyes started tearing up. I placed my hand on his shoulder for some sort of comfort, which I was terrible at but I had to at least try.

He sat up straight and tried to fight off the tears by looking up at my ceiling.

"I don't know what I did wrong, or if I'm not what she wanted in a mate but.." he looked at me and laughed.

"It's not your fault"  he looked at me as if I was lying to him

"It must be, because, she just...." He ran his fingers through his hair again "She won't even talk to me about it" he quickly wiped a tear away as he interlocked his hands together and looked away from me.
