I ran up the stairs of my house and opened my bedroom door where I instantly started gathering crystals and gems to be used for the ritual offerings. Placing them in a small pouch, I went into my closet and grabbed the traditional dress that the Ivy high priestess has to always wear to these kinds of meetings.
Once it was nice and fitted around me I stole a quick glance at the clock and saw it was 4:15.
I didn't have time for anything else so I hurriedly brushed out my hair and used magic to help put it up.
"Aliana! Hurry up, Lyredy started the portal!" Lydia shouted up the stairs.
It was only three minutes after when I originally looked at the clock but I was desperate for time. Grabbing the small pouch, I tied it to my side using the cord that wraps around my dress and ran back into the hall and slid down the stair railing.
Daniel was still asleep but he was moved to my couch and had my guest blanket draped over his body. I looked at Lydia with a questioning glance and she shrugged her shoulders.
"I didn't put the blanket on him," was all she said and then moved over to the portal.
Before I stepped in I took one look at Daniel and frowned. He might be hungry if he wakes up before I return.
"Just ask the kitchen to cook you guys something up but you two already know you're welcome to anything in my house except the basement". They both nodded and Lydia started to walk towards the kitchen. My attention drew back to the portal as it started to blink off a bright light signaling it was going to close soon.
The people included in the 7 families are only allowed to bring one other person, and since I'm next in line as the Ivy High Priestess I don't really count as a guest, so instead, my grandmother has Navarro come along as her "bodyguard".
I heard the sound of the portal slowly fade away once I stepped through it.
The realm that the council meeting is held in is a dimension that only the seven families know of. It's filled with endless traps that are meant to kill any intruders who might have slipped past the barrier.
The thing about the realm is that it's filled with ancient architectures that seem to circuit together to create an endless hall.
