The guard glanced at me every few seconds. He probably wondered howI knew what had happened.
"She's dead isn't she?"
"I can't say."
"Alright." I replied.
As we got closer to the palace, I got even more nervous. When we got to the courtyard,trumpets started playing a fanfare. When the door to the palace opened, a voice said, "introducing Adeline, your new warrior!" I halted, wondering where the voice had come from.
"Adeline! Come here." I turned to the left and ssaw the King looking at me while pointing towards a door at the back of the hallway. I bowed and said, "Yes, your majesty." He took me into the room and said, "I will give you a few minutes."
