The sole protector-

Chapter 7-

In the courtyard-

"Warrior Adeline!"

"Yes?"

"Come quick! It's your mother!"

As we walked to the castle I asked, "What happened?"

"She was walking to the kitchens, and just collapsed. The doctors have been with her for an hour. We are afraid that this is her last hour on this earth."

"We must hurry."

"Yes, warrior."

At the castle--

"Warrior, she is in blue room 2.

"Thank you."

"Mom!"

"I am sorry warrior Adeline, she is gone."

"No! She can't be! You must do something!"

"I am truly sorry Warrior Adeline, but you are now the sole protector of Gledriloth."

At the arena--

"Majesty?"

"Yes, warrior?"

"Why do I have to wear a dress? I would so much rather be in full warrior uniform

"Because, this is a formal event. All the women are wearing dresses."

"I am a warrior. The only one in Gledriloth, I might add."

"Well, if you really want to know, the royals and warrior of Aredien are in the stands."

"William is here? Why?"

"Who is William?"

"The warrior from Aredien."

"Oh, he is here to protect the Aredien royals."

"Then why are the Aredien royals here?"

"Not that its any of your business, but I proposed to the princess of Aredien. Our Kingdoms need to get to know each other, so they will come to our formal events and we will go to theirs."

"Alright, about the dress. It's way to short and I can't wear heels.

"I know your not used to heels, but they are wedges and are easier to walk in than stilettos."

"Still!"

"We want you to look good for your presentation as a warrior. On another not, do you want to ride sunrise on to the stage? Or do you want to walk on?"

"Umm, walk of course, you can't ride astride a horse in a dress, and I can't ride side saddle."

"We could teach you."

"No! That is not a practical skill to learn."

"Alright, you can walk on."
