You are coated in the jewels of your ancestors
They bury you beneath glistening waves
And carry your heart to a chasm of your own making.
Taunted with freedom you laugh and call it a fool's fantasy
Although your tongue has never tasted the word past its syllables.Beneath your glistening Kingdom you search for reprieve
That I used to think you found in me.
I am not worth your golden crowns
But you force them on my head and into my bones
Constructing a castle of misfortune that is blind to your eye.The heart that bled for you is the heart that dies for you
Weighed down with opulence
And a crown that has never been mine.
Smothered in satin I gasp for air
A prisoner in my own skin.Your heart no longer bursts with flowers
Their vibrant hues replaced with golden gleams.
Seated in your throne is a stranger who has swallowed you whole
And destroyed the man that I once called home.
