The echo of a slamming door sent Elizabeth Hamilton into a fit. "Maria!" She shouted. Her usually gentle expression was scrunched up in anger. Maria knew how his girlfriend felt about doors being slammed. After all, they did live in an almost 200-year-old home. Maria grabbed the Hershey's bar and raced upstairs.

"How many times do I HAVE to tell you? DO NOT SLAM THE DOORS!!" Maria winced from the tone of voice. Eliza snatched the chocolate bar, glancing at the time. 2:15. Philip would be home any minute. Maria dashed downstairs now, and out the door. However, no bus arrived- in fact, several parents were outside and concerned.

Their across the street neighbours, the Washington's shouted at her. "Aye, Maria! Where is their bus?" Maria shrugged. After waiting five minutes more, the streets' phones rang. Maria picked it up- the monotone voice saying:

"Hello parents and guardians of Bus 76. We have news and a notice. The bus has gotten in an accident along Route 6. It was fatal for several students and only four survived. They all were injured and are at the Virginia Hospital. We.. apologize for this.

Condolences,

VPSD."

Maria stood up, and froze. She walked quietly inside, and just broke down sobbing. "Eliza..." her deep eyes were filled with tears as her girlfriend came downstairs. "Philip is dead.. his bus crashed." Eliza gasped and collapsed. Maria fell with her. She cried into Eliza's shoulder. "I'm sorry." Maria cried.
