After first hour, i wander down to the ceramics room for my second class. The teacher handed out a syllabus to us and said that we needed it to get signed by our parents along with a $15 fee for clay, wax and glaze. I sat with two other kids at a table in the back of the room.
“Hey, are you new here?” one of the other kids at my table asked me.
I just nodded in response, not comfortable with using my voice quite yet.
“I’m Jenna, Jenna Parker.” she tucked a strand of pink hair behind her ear and gave me a half smile. “That over there is Jamie,” she pointed to the boy with blue dyed hair. He looked up from his sketchbook and waved shyly at me.
I pull out a piece of paper and write my name.
“Can you talk?” she asked after glancing at the paper.
I nodded again.
“Well, I’m not gonna force you to if you aren’t comfortable with it .: she gave me a reassuring smile and turned back to her sketchbook.
I decided that I would like this class.
