Jess came rushing out of the living room, Barbara had already rushed upstairs to Stevie's room.  "Tee?!"
"What happened to her? Tell me how this happened" Jess told him firmly.

"We were talking and she got upset. She said she felt weak and her face is pale...I don't know..." Lindsey began to cry.
"Lindsey, I think that it would be best if you left her alone...for good. She's got her head on straight and you don't need to change her." Jess said seriously. "You are going to hold her back, she doesn't need that."
"I don't want to hold her back. I want to marry her. I want her to do everything she wants to do and finish school. I want her to go to college but I just want to be part of her future."
"Lindsey, I think that you should let her go...you're not on her level..."
"I will do anything to be on her level. Please give me a chance." he begged. "I just want to take care of her and the baby."
"Lindsey you aren't capable! You will never be able to support Stevie! I will not watch her be held back from her full potential!"
"I am capable! I can show you!" Lindsey tried to get closer to his girlfriend as Barbara stroked her daughter's hair but Jess stepped in front of him.

"You should go. You can still come to the doctor's appointment but we feel it's in Stevie's best interests if you didn't bother her afterward."
"You can't keep us apart," Lindsey said bodily

"I can assure you that while she is underage, we can."
"You can't stop us. She loves me, and I love her."

"That's great, Lindsey, but I won't have you corrupting our daughter."

Lindsey felt defeated and angry. He couldn't make them see.
"Yessir..." he hung his head, leaving the house as he sat outside of Stevie's window. He wanted to be close in case she needed him
He heard muffled voices for almost an hour but still he did not move. He worried about her, biting his fingernails, hoping he would soon hear her voice. "I can't lose her." he said to himself.
Lindsey stayed put until he heard Stevie screaming at her parents about him. She was furious that they had basically told him he was not to see her because he was...different.
Stevie had told them to leave her alone, saying she felt her blood pressure rising and wanted to rest for the baby. Lindsey climbed the rose trellis outside her window and poked his head into her room once he thought the coast as clear. Stevie was crying in her bed, hugging her pillow tightly. "I guess it's just you and me, baby. I'm going to miss your daddy. I know he's different, but I love him and I know he loves you."
"Steph..." Lindsey said softly, his heart breaking at her words
She sniffed, a hand falling to her belly.

"Stephanie!" he said again. She sat up, wiping her eyes.
"Lindsey? You can't be here...." She cried, "they can't do this to us..."
"Marry me, Stephanie. Please! Then they can't keep us apart." They had gone over this a million times but he had to press the issue. He was afraid to lose her.
"We have to have their permission to get married before we are eighteen..." Stevie cried, "If it meant that I could still see you then I would marry you right now..."
"It's legal at 16 in Nevada without permission" he told her. "My mother and father were talking about it after one of my...outbursts." he told her.
"Let's go then...right now..." Stevie wiped at her eyes, rushing to grab a white sun dress and her make up bag
"Really?"

"Yes, Lindsey, right now." Stevie quickly put on her dress, stripping on the spot and Lindsey turned around, cheeks flushed. "I'll do my makeup real quick, I promise."

"Take your time, baby." Lindsey told she and she squealed excitedly, kissing him before going about doing her makeup.
By the time she was finished he stared at her lovingly, never seeing her look so beautiful, "We have to go..." Lindsey said nervously, afraid that they would get caught
She nodded, taking his hand and rushing out. They got into her car and started off down the road. They spoke quickly, often interrupting each other. They were nervous but excited. It was crazy what they were doing but how else could they kept from being separated?
"How much does this cost?" Stevie asked Lindsey
