You all finally reach at The West Gate of Moria, you are all tired and helpless. But the flicker of hope in Gimli's eyes kept you going.
"The Walls of Moria!" Gimli cried in awe. He was excited, anyone could see that but when you realised that you had to find the door first you sat down with Merry and Pippin bored. You kept glancing over at Gandalf murmuring to himself. Suddenly he looked up at the moon and the door appeared decorated in patterns.
"He does change when not in the Shire" Merry said standing up. You got along with both him and Pippin well but you couldn't help but feel coldness in their hearts. Pippin stood up and they both started throwing stones into the nearby lake. You look around and notice Legolas staring at you. You give him a half-hearted smile but faced the other way.
" Do not disturb the water" Aragorn said to Pippin as he was about to throw another stone. They obeyed him and sat down next to you.
"What does it read Gandalf?" Boromir asked.
"It reads “The Doors of Durin – Lord of Moria. Speak, friend, and enter." Gandalf replied. Sam and Frodo who had both been in silence for a while both began helping Gandalf solve the riddle.
"Wait-- what is elvish for friend" Frodo said.
"Mellon" you and Legolas said together again, you looked at him blushing as he smiled. The door started to creak open as you in stared into the darkness. Everyone packed up, Sam and Aragorn left Bill, the pony to leave. You wrapped an arm around Sam for comfort.
"He knows his way home Sam, don't worry" you say trying to reassure him. He smiles but walks on next to Frodo. As you enter, you look around the darkness. The same hand was grabbing your hand like on the mountainside.
"Don't worry" Legolas said.
"I'm fine, really..." you replied.
"I can hear your heart beating fast, it is fear." He says.
"It might not be fear..." you say but kick yourself for sounding like such a flirt. You try to break from his hand but it hangs on to it pulling you closer to his side.
