Dustin stayed in the shower for a decent time, about 20 minutes, and once he stepped out a shiver went down his spine from the sudden temperature change. He dried off his hair which took quite awhile considering its length, then dried his body. He pulled on the shirt, then put on his boxers and jeans. Then stepped out of the bathroom, where Scarlett was waiting in his room.
"There ya go. Now you dont look like a delinquent. Now you just look like an emo." Scarlett said with a chuckle.
"Ha ha. So funny." Dustin replied, then grabbed a pair of sock out of his dresser and put them on, along with the converse. He tapped the front of the shoe to fit his toes in, then tossed his hair back and looked at himself in the mirror. His eyes weren't gleaming like they did when he was angry Scarlett noticed, they were just plain eyes. Yet they were still beautiful. The diamond blue one had tiny specs of green and gold spread out among it. And the scarlet one had tiny specs of brown and black.
"Your eyes, there really pretty." Scarlett said, not able to help herself from making a comment.
"I hate them. I hide them for a reason." Dustin replied angrily then dropped his hair back in his face. "Why do you want me to come to this thing anyway? It's not like we're friends. I don't want friends."
"I dunno, I just thought you should come I guess." She said and looked at the floor.
"I need to take Lizzi somewhere while I'm gone, maybe Christy is free." Dustin said to himself, completely blowing Scarlett off.
"Oh she can come too. She'd get along well with my friends." Scarlett said happily.
"Whatever. Go get her ready then. I'll be down stairs." Dustin said with a shrug and walked out of the room.
Scarlett stood up and wandered around on the second floor until she found Lizzis room. She was sitting on her bed playing on a hand held game device of some kind. She looked up from the device and looked at Scarlett with eyes of joy.
"I'm playing Pokemon." She said happily. "Wanna try it?"
"Actually I was wondering something. Would you like to come to my friend meet up with your brother and I?" Scarlett said with a smile.
"Yeah totally!" Lizzi yelled. She was smiling a big bright smile. Then she looked at herself and said eww. "Can you help me pick something to wear?"
"Sure." Scarlett replied with a smile. They rummaged through her closet until they settled on a long dress that was the same color as her hair, and some light pink flats. They walked down stairs and decided to go outside for the last few minutes until they had to leave.
It was a beautiful day for October. It was warm, and the sun was out in a clear sky. Scarlett and Lizzi walked over to a van, where Scarletts mom and dad were waiting. Dustin however, turned around and walked back inside. Coming back out a few minutes later with the long board Scarlett had seen earlier.
"Well, get goin." Dustin said flatly.
"Were waiting on you. Get in." Scarlett said with a wave of her hand.
"Not a chance. I hate cars. Just get moving. I'll be close behind." Dustin said, annoyed.
Scarletts mom pressed the gas and the reversed out of the driveway, then drove down the street. Dustin started running at top speed down the sidewalk, then dropped the board and landed on it. He was keeping pace with the car surprisingly, and he wasn't even breaking a sweat. The wind was blowing his hair out of his face, and from the window seat of the car he looked like a normal teenage boy riding down the sidewalk on his skateboard. They took a turn and still Dustin kept pace, all the way to the cafe where they were meeting up. Dustin stopped next to the car, where Scarlett and Lizzi were already getting out. He kicked the back of the board and it came up into his hand cleanly.
"Been awhile." He said and held the board at his side. Scarlett looked at him, then looked away. She never noticed how sharp his jawline was. His face was just as toned as his body, and the first thing she thought was 'dang if he wasn't so mean he'd actually be hot.'
Lizzi tugged on Scarletts dress, which flexed slightly.
"Can we go now?" She asked excitedly.
"Sure, let's head in." Scarlett said quickly and happily, flashing a smile at Lizzi. Dustin followed behind silently.
Scarlett stepped into the Cafe quickly, with Lizzi trailing closely behind. A boy with short brown hair and brown eyes stood up and looked in their direction.
"Yo Scarlett! Who's the shorty?" He yelled.
"Hey Jackson. This is Elizabeth Stone." She said and the girl in the pink dress stepped forward.
"Hello nice to meet you." She said with a smile.
"Hello there little girl." Jackson said with a smile. Then his back straightened, suddenly stiff. "Wait did you say Stone?" And at that moment Dustin walked through the door. His hands in his pockets as usual, and he was leaning back and walking as if he owned the place. Suddenly the boy with brown hair and a boy with medium length coal black hair stood up and rushed in between Scarlett and Lizzi, separating them from Dustin.
"The hell is HE doing here?"
