I felt a finger poke my side and turned to see yoongi staring intently at me. "are you okay? i've noticed you've been out of it lately. what's bothering you?"

he was walking me to my next class. he always did that, risking being late to his. he kept it up, despite the awkward atmosphere between us.

he moved around so he stood in front of me, stopping me in my steps. "talk to me. is this about–?"

"no," i shook my head, cutting him off before he could mention our yet to be addressed kiss. "it's something else."

his hands came up to wrap around my arms. i could feel the way my skin heated up at the contact. even the simplest gestures had my heart running like crazy. "what?"

i took a deep breath and met his gaze. "i got offered a spot at this amazing dance academy and a potential position in their dance company when i graduate."

"that's great news, dahee! why are you so worked up about it?" he beamed. his gummy smile made my lips curl up sadly.

"it's in new york, yoongi. i'd have to leave korea and everything and everyone i know. i'd be uprooting my entire life for this." i told him, failing to add the fact that most of all, i didn't want to leave him.

i took in the way his happy face fell immediately. my heart clenched painfully and i felt even worse. "oh." the sad note in his voice was evident.

his hands moved up my arms to my shoulders and his lips pulled up in another gummy smile, this one a bit forced. "this is your dream, isn't it? this is a once in a lifetime opportunity and you should take it." he pulled me closer.

"if the tables were turned, i'm sure you'd be encouraging me to go because ultimately you'd want me to go after my dreams." his thumbs made soothing circles on my shoulders as he spoke.

i watched his face, noting the way he couldn't really look me in the eye as he kept talking. it made me think this was hard for him.

"i'll miss you like hell but i think you should go." his gaze finally moved up to meet mine again. i felt like crying just listening to him. i didn't want to leave him.

i took a deep breath before nodding. "i guess you might be right. i'll think about it."
