Chapter Six

Kiitan sat in front of the mirror nervously, water glistening on her body. She picked up her Nivea body cream from the top of the drawer and spread generous amount on her body.

     She stood up to pick out her dress,it was a purple off shoulder mini gown with its low neckline and skirt slit to the hips that fitted her like a second skin.

     After Mayowa had given her the money for her dress,she had gone to Glamour and Glitz, beauty shop. After going round the boutique for a while she stumbled upon the purple off shoulder gown with low neckline passing her mid thigh slightly which she picked instantly.

     She adjusted the delicate looking earrings and the gold chain on her neck,sprayed perfume on her neck,wrist and ankle. She applied generous amount of makeup and styled her weave in an all-back style.

          She looked into the mirror admiring herself and her latest achievement. At twenty, she wasn't bad looking at all,she was tall and what could pass as ebony with her long hair which she loved to transform into different styles as well as a pleasant and warm personality.

    She was still admiring her slim figure and hips when her roommate came in.

       "Wow,you look like a princess" Sophie said aloud

     "Uh huh,thanks" Kiitan said

    "Babe I envy you o,first you got invited to the Coker's party and  now you're all donned up like a princess"

      "Thanks Sophie", Kiitan muttered,she couldn't have had it better. Just wait till I get back and give you all the latest gist.
    
 Just then,the door swept open and Mayowa stepped in. He was looking good in his new haircut. He took a step closer to Kiitan and was shocked at the transformation.

   " Wow,you look good enough to eat" he said teasingly

    "Thanks" she said as she posed for Sophie to take her picture on her Infinix note 5. Shortly after, she picked up her bag and headed towards Mayowa's car hand in hand with him.
     
      Thirty minutes after they arrived at the party in his blue Toyota Camry 2010. Kiitan became nervous but there was no use backing out after coming this far.

    She followed Mayowa into the hall. He took her to an empty seat and asked her for a few minutes to get drinks for them. Ten minutes later, Mayowa wasn't still back,she started to feel left out especially with the fact that she didn't belong to this circle,that was the first rich kid's party she was ever attending.
    
       A lady in blue crop top and light pink skirt whom Kiitan recognised as Nora,one of the Coker twins walked up to her.
  
      "Hey there, nice dress you've got" she said as she swept her human hair backwards

   "Thanks,yours is better"  Kiitan replied

      "Of course, its way costlier" Nora wanted to say,but instead she said
"Thank you,you're Mayowa's girl aren't you?"

"Yes I am"

"Cool let me introduce you to my sister"

  Yes that's what I'm talking about!

         Mayowa can go to hell for abandoning her but as long as she was introduced into the circle of the likes of the Cokers, she was satisfied. She couldn't wait to go back to her hostel and show off to her roommates.

    Nora came back shortly with her sister, Nelly. She was taller and finer with a lighter blue shade of crop top and her hair swept up in a coiffure.
  
     "Nelly meet Mayowa's girl" Nora said to her twin

  "So you're Mayowa's girl huh?" Or latest plaything she almost said
  
    "Yes I am" Kiitan said. Why are some rich girls rude,what did she mean by that question ? Kiitan thought within her and concluded that Nora was the friendlier of the two.

"Well have you got anything to drink?" Nelly asked and Kiitan nodded her said to say no

"Let's get our friend a drink" Nora muttered and called the nearest waitress

At least she had called her friend,which means she was now part of them.

     Her drink was brought and without surprise it was alcoholic. She took her first sip and squeezed her face in disgust. With time she for used to the taste,collected two more cans and began to enjoy the party without Mayowa.

He sat at a corner in the party,his eyes roaming for his next prey until he spotted the girl in purple. He had seen her come in with Mayowa earlier but it seems like Mayowa had other plans and abandoned her.
    
      She looked like she was new to alchohol and was getting tispy. He couldn't wait for the right to lay his hands on her jewelries, he could sell them for some amount, as well as some other benefits.

Deep into the party, Mayowa came back to Kiitan and apologized for leaving like that. He promised not to leave her side again and she forgave him in her drunken state.

   The M.c called up the twins to the stage for vote or thanks.Nelly was first to talk.

  "I just want to say a big thank you to everyone present here and to my sister, I wanna say I love you very much"

  "I love you too sis. Now everyone,let's do the...."

"..dirty dancing" the regular ones screamed.
    
Suddenly, all lights were turned off. Mayowa and Kiitan found their way in the darkness and began to dance to Skuki's forkanizer . Mayowa asked kiitan for permission to use the restroom and she allowed. After waiting for him for some minutes,she began to get irritated by dancing couples stepping on her feet.

   Suddenly, Kiitan felt the sturdy hands of a stranger on her body. Its was different yet overwhelming so she allowed him to dance with her,drank more alcohol,got drunk and forgot about Mayowa.

   Her partner took her to a corner of the room,did all he wanted with her and she sure had fun.
