Chapter Ten

For the past few days,he had spent his time smoking,drinking and brooding. He had ditched his class today to have time to himself. He took out his laptop so he could connect to his phone's hotspot and watch a movie on YouTube.

   He heard a soft knock on his door but chose to ignore it. The last thing he wanted right now was disturbance from anyone but Tooke was persistent. She and Kolade hadn't talked for three days and she was dying of guilt and boredom. Kolade stood up from his bed prepared to send the person away.

   He gently opened it to reveal a sorry looking Tooke. He let her in without saying a word. She went to his bed sat down and started taking off her blouse. Kolade saw this,smiled and turned to lock the door.
Comprehending at last, Tooke gave to him what he had always wanted.

It was two days after the party and Mayowa hadn't called her or visited. Kiitan dressed in a red top and jean trouser. She was going to visit Mayowa for help,at least he was partly at fault for what happened. If he had not left she would have come in contact with the stranger.

     As she approached his room,several thought ran through her. What could be the reason why he hadn't contacted her. She knocked on his door hoping he was in. Mayowa opened the door and to say he was shocked was the least to describe his expression. Kiitan noticed his room was unusually neat,his books were well stacked on the shelf,his bed laid and his shoes on the rack. Before she could speak, he went in to bring a note.

    It was then Kiitan noticed the lady reclining on his bed. She was a pretty girl in a flowery gown which ended right above her knees. Mayowa noticed Kiitan staring and used the opportunity to speak.

   "Meet Ella, my love from Covenant university" he said to Kiitan

"Ella,meet my course mate,Kiitan" He said to the girl on his bed who muttered a form of greeting which Kiitan could not reply to.

Mayowa turned to Kiitan again,pointed the note to her and said "please return it as soon as possible, I need to read before the next class" . Having said that, he gestured for her to leave which she did.

    Outside the room,Kiitan refused to move. She tried her best to prevent tears from flowing while she opened the note that was given to her. It was blank. She dropped it on the footmat and made to leave until she heard voices..
"Cat got the tongue of your course mate? Ella asked.

" Forget her,she's not important " Mayowa said and bent to tickle Ella. She laughed and he heaved a sigh of relief that she wasn't angry.

Those words kept playing in her ear. She was a fool once again,in fact this was the third time to count Kola(chapter 3) ,the party too. Who was she fooling, Mayowa never asked her to be his girlfriend. He had only kissed her and told her she was beautiful that night. She was just a friend with benefits with lots of problems.
