The next time she came in, the enchantress left us some water and some slimy stuff to eat. I had to eat. I had not eaten anything since I was locked up in the cage.

That night and even the next morning passed quickly, like it did not even happen. But right after noon the enchantress started making preparations for the big night.

She wore a new robe. Probably had a bath, in...who knows how many  centuries.

Then, finally, it was time. She was going to be more dangerous than before. Possibly one of the most powerful beings.

The moon was out and inching it's way over the cave. The enchantress took a knife and a vial and came to the cage.

"Oh, this won't hurt. It will be over in a minute Rapunzel," she said, as a sinister smiled crept across her face.

She grabbed my hand and pulled it through the bars of the cage before I could react. I tried to pull it back in, but her grip was too strong. Damien just watched on helplessly as I cried and yelled.

"Rapunzel, it's over. No amount of struggling will help. It will just make it worse," he said, almost in a whisper. He looked scared. I really felt bad for him. After all, it was my fault he got caught up in this mess.

"Looks like the boy has some sense left in him. You should listen to him," said the enchantress, smirking the whole time.

I could not struggle anymore. She just touched the knife to my skin and blood started to pour out. She collected this in the vial. I was crying the whole time. Not at the pain, but at my failure in stopping her from regaining her youth.

After the vial filled up she left my hand and I pulled it back in, clutching it to my chest. Then I tore off a piece of cloth from my clothes and Damien helped me bandage the cut. Blood still flowed out and the cloth was soaking with blood.

We just stared at what the enchantress was doing. She had already poured out all of my blood into the boiling pot and I could see the red glow of the moon falling on the pot, making the liquid inside somewhat shine. The enchantress was chanting a spell under her breath. She still had that sinister smirk on her face.

The red glow finally passed off and the cave was left in darkness. But I could still make out the outline of her figure. She dipped the same vial she had used for my blood before, into the pot, raised it and took a sip.

"I can already feel young," she said and drank all that was left in the vial.

As she drank all of it her body began to glow and the cave was filled with light once again

As she drank all of it her body began to glow and the cave was filled with light once again. Her hair, from white turned to brown and her skin regained it's colour. She became taller. And as she was laughing, her voice sounded younger. The potion seemed to have worked.
