I ripped the sheets off of him. Well that's not really how one is supposed to treat 'their prince'. But I have been allowed to use whatever means necessary to wake him up. I do have to hear a earful after that, get glares all day long and am deprived of any free time as I'm doing extraordinary 'favours' for his highness, as he wants me to call him.

Time for the extreme measures. So, I quickly fill a bucket with ice-cold water and dump the entire thing on his head.

'HOLY SHIT!!!' He yelled at the top of his lungs.

'Okay, I'm up, I'm up. Jeez, It's not like I'm getting late or anything. I'm seriously considering throwing you in the dungeon,' He said glaring at me.

It didn't have the desired effect though. I started laughing instead. And he really looked comical dripping wet and glaring at me like an idiot. I really couldn't help but laugh.

'Would you stop already? I need to get ready and I need you to move out,' he stated.

'Of course your highness! I too have other things to do.'

I rushed out of the room before he could say anything else. I need to attend a class in English at the moment. As I said earlier they really wanted to educate me.

The last thing that I had to do for the day was feed the horses. The maid servant was sick with the flu and didn't make it to work this week,so I offered to help. I'm planning on leaving the place soon after.

I feed the horses after supper and make my way around the castle. There's a path that leads into the forest. I can take that path to the road and walk back home from there.

I hear loud voices as I near the Queen's window. It sounds like the Queen and the prince are having a heated conversation about something that sounds pretty important.

  '....why should I ?'

  'Because you are the prince.'

'I'm not listening to you. You're not my mother and have no right to order me around.'

There was silence after that outburst. I was shocked. She was not his mother? He was an orphan then? I knew about the death of his father but I had never heard about this before. It somehow made me stop and listen further.

'I made your father a promise and I intend to keep it. And as for you taking orders from me - I will be the ruler until you are ready to get married. You shall take the throne only then.'

The prince was quiet through the entire thing she said. She then continued,' you will go to the ball with princess Virginia, am I clear?'

'Yeah whatever. As if you ever give me a choice. I still absolutely hate going to balls.'

'Good. Now go get some sleep. You have a long day ahead of you.'

He left the room without saying a word. I was stunned. All this time I thought the royals had no troubles. It seems as though I might be wrong.

Just when I thought the Queen would go to bed, Ms. Stephanie entered. She was the Queen's most trusted worker and was her assistant in most of her planning.

The conversation that followed knocked the wind out of me and I was left breathless. And then I worried about the prince and I began questioning my decision of leaving.
