I was stunned by what he told me.

'Did you do anything to stop her?' I asked, my voice sounding as if it did not belong to me.

'Even if I did, it's none of your business.'

His tone was sharp and I couldn't help but be offended. Here I was trying to help him from his stepmother and he was speaking to me rudely.

'I'd like to help---'

'Well, I don't need it. I can take care of myself. I'm fed up of people doing things for me. And at the moment I trust no one, least of all you. So you can stick to your job of waking me up and if you cannot do that, there will  be severe consequences.'

He said all this in such an angry tone, I almost cried right there. I felt as though I was stabbed right through my heart. All I was trying to do was help him and what do I get? A yelling Prince, full of threats.

'Now, I would appreciate it if you could leave me alone and go do your work.'

I walked out of there without saying a word. I really could not understand how people can be so mean. But for some reason I still wanted to help him, even after what he said a few moments ago.

I did not know what to do, so I went about doing what I did everyday, only, my mind was in a totally different place. I could not entirely focus on what I was doing. I really was worried for the Prince.

As I was walking to the main Palace building after finishing all my work in the garden I saw the Queen talking to some one I definitely did not see in the Palace before.

I silently made my way to where they were busy talking and hid among the bushes to hear what they were saying. And once again she shocked me. It got me thinking of the amount of lies she must be telling to her people.

'But our institution has a rule, your highness, that students must stay for a five year course with no breaks in between. Doesn't he have any royal duties to attend to during that time?'

'Oh. He does. But I shall handle things around here. He needs the best education out there and won't get it cooped up in here. So I shall try to make arrangements where ever necessary, don't you worry about anything.'

'Well, as you wish your highness.'

'So, I'd like to know more about the fees....'

That's all I needed to know to make me dash to the Prince's room and talk to him once again and I absolutely had to do it now. So that is exactly what I did. This has to be something the prince does not know about. I have to tell him before its too late.

I knock on the door.

No response.

I knock again.

Some shuffling about in the room and I'm really growing impatient out here.

And he finally responds,

'Yes?'

'It's me Belle.'

'I'm busy.'

'Busy sleeping?'

'None of your business.'

'Look, I'm sorry if I upset you before, but this is really important. I overheard the Queen talking to some guy...'

'Don't want to hear it. I also recall telling you that this is none of your business, so just go away and leave me alone.'

Seriously. Now.

That was the last straw. I had enough. So I just barged in. What happens next will alter our fates either for the better or worse.
