Chapter 1- Slade's Game

The Titans watched in horror as Trigon rose. Slade watching idly by. Trigon rose to full height and let his scream escape, turning all living things on earth to stone except for the five Titans shielded by raven. Robin, Cyborg, Raven, Starfire and Beast Boy  fell into darkness.

Robin jolted awake with a gasp for air. He hoped that whatever had happened in the last few days had just been a dream unfortunately he found it wasn't. His surroundings told him that much.

Robin was in a dark room, bound to the wall with fiery ropes. The same ones trigon had given slade. The ropes bound around his arms, wrists, stomach and feet. Beside him, his friends were bound in a similar way. Raven was on his left while Cyborg was powered down on his right. Starfire was on his far left while Beast Boy was on his far right. They were finally starting to wake up.

" Dude, where are we," Beast Boy said groggily.

"Not sure," Cyborg said wearily after auto restarting

" Everyone alright?" Raven added

"Yeah we're just perfect! Aside from the fact that we are in the hands of a demon and are tied up to the wall!" Robin sarcastically but in.

Starfire sighed while the rest of them kept quiet. Robin felt guilty for snapping and pointing out the situation. Raven was barely holding back the silent tears streaming down her face. She blamed it all on herself. Robin shifted and wriggled around a bit so he could squeeze her hand comfortingly.

"Don't worry Ray we can get out of this,"he tried to assure. Raven gave him a faint smile and he gave one back.

(No this isn't a Robin X Raven fic)

"I highly doubt it, this is my father were talking about, not to mention slade making it harder."

Raven, Cyborg, Starfire and Beast Boy gave out a sharp intake of breath and shrank back as a figure entered. Robin however stood his ground and glared at the man as he walked in front of them.

"Slade," Robin said, his voice dripping with venom.

"What do you want with us!?" He added.

Slade's eye narrowed and Robin knew he was smirking under that mask of his.

"I had a feeling that you would say that Robin," Slade said calmly.

His gaze bore into the Boy Wonder as Robin struggled to get out of the ropes hold.

"To answer your question, your friends are here to provide entertainment for me and Trigon," he looked at Cyborg, Starfire, raven and Beast Boy who were also struggling against the ropes.

"Raven will serve her father in his global conquest" slade continued.

Raven went paler and bit her lip to hold back the retort she was about to spit out.

Robin growled and struggled more. He would not let his team suffer, they were his responsibility and he was their leader he was one who should protect them. "Great job I've done so far." He thought the sarcasm evident.

Slade chuckled, apparently amused by Robin's defiance and star and raven's attempts to use their powers to escape.

"You will all find that your powers are gone." Slade pointed out.

He snapped his fingers and 5 Sladebots came into the room and positioned themselves next to each of the Titans. Slade moved his hand and all the Titans except for Robin were released from the ropes. They fell into the hands of the Sladebots and were then drug out of the room.

Robin struggled with the ropes furiously and spewed multiple curses towards Slade. He could do nothing to stop the Sladebots from taking his friends away but this doesn't mean he wouldn't try. Slade stayed silent and unmoving though Robin could see a satisfied look in his eye. Slade and Robin were left alone.

"What do you want with me," Robin yelled, scowling at Slade.

"The same thing I wanted from the beginning, Robin. I want you as my apprentice." Slade said walking closer.

Robin went pale and his breathing got quicker. He gave a death glare and and stopped moving.

"I will never be your apprentice not again, not ever! Why don't you get Terra to be your filthy apprentice once more?"

Unlike the other Titans, he and Raven had never had forgiven Terra for betraying them for slade.

"Well Robin, I like my apprentices to be someone with a fighting sprit and she gave in too quickly. But you, your are perfect. It takes life threats for you to give. It's a challenge. I like a good challenge." Slade pressed walking even closer to Robin.

Robin snarled and started struggling again, Slade continued talking.

"Join me Robin and you'll get powers you have never even dreamed of. You will be one of the most powerful people on this planet."

Robin stopped struggling once more and actually considered what Slade said. For a horrifying moment Robin almost said yes. It was a tempting idea but he wouldn't betray friends.

Robin and he felt sick at how he had almost given in. He shouted at Slade venting most of his anger towards its source.

"I'll never join you ,Slade. I'd rather die!" Robin once more shouted.

Slade growled in anger. Why was Robin so stubborn?

"That can be arranged," Slade said icily and snapped his fingers.

Instantly, the ropes that held Robin began to burn. They dug into his clothing and ripped into his skin. Robin screamed in pain as pure agony travelled throughout his body. He struggled madly hoping to get free of the ropes trying his best to move away.

Slade watched for a while then snapped his fingers again. The ropes stopped burning but red angry welts assaulted Robin's skin.

"I'll ask again Robin. Ready to join me?" Slade asked coldly.

Robin's face scrunched up in pain as the burn marks screamed. Only the thought of His friends had stopped him from giving up.

"Never Slade, go to hell." Robin yelled in a raspy voice.

Slade sighed. It was impressive that Robin still wouldn't give up. It was one of the many reasons that Slade chose Robin but now he would have to go to the back up plan.

"I've already been there. Not to keen on going back. Your friends are at my mercy and unless you comply, I'll destroy them. And this time Robin, I'm afraid that you can't stop me."

Robin's breathing hitched as the threat hung in the air. He growled and hit his head against the wall in frustration. Slade watched amused knowing that he had won.

Slade clapped his hands once and the ropes disappeared. Robin fell to the ground hard and landed on his back. He was still too weak to get up. The welts hurt every time he tried to move. Robin groaned.

2 Sladebots appeared and held Robin up by his arms. Robin winced and let a small squeak.

Slade came up to the young hero and his fingers traced the R logo on his shirt. With a barely noticeable movement, he removed it and it melted away in his hands. Robin snarled in anger, but he couldn't attack because he had exhausted himself due to the burns running up his arms.

Slade brought out a needle and injected a non burnt area of robins arm. Robin gasped as he felt his strength returning and the burns began to cool. Little did he know why.

Slade chuckled slightly at the surprised look on Robin's face. The look quickly changed to anger and tried to flee. However the robots held him firmly.

Slade smiled at his victory. He forced the boy to look up at him. He began to speak in a chilling whisper.

"Time to get ready."
