All the long restless night, Emery awaited the next day. They'd be going to Goron City, and do the same as the last two. But Zelda promised to tell Emery more about her parents, and she desperately wanted to know. Even if that meant being around the girl that was better than her in all manners. The girl who was also in love with Link, but the one who he happened to love back.

They traveled for an amount of time to get to Goron City, from their temporary home in Hateno Village. Along the way, they were slowly recruiting builders and fighters to rebuild Castle Town and fight off the monsters. According to Zelda, Castle Town came before the castle. The travelers they encountered along the way needed to be home in their rightful place. As of now, they were rebuilding the ruins. Zelda said she'd worry about the castle later. It was so big, it would take longer than the town to rebuild. Besides, she always puts her people before her.

They entered Goron City, hearing everyone mining and minding their own business. As they passed through, people greeted them and hummed their work songs. Zelda gracefully waved at them all, giving her warm smile that's always talked about. Emery didn't smile a lot, but if she didn't it just couldn't compare. That was arguable to Link, though.

They made it finally to the city. There they found the boss of the Gorons along with Yunobo. "Hey, Goros! Good seeing you today!"

Emery gave him a small wave, and Link nodded to him.

"Hm, you guys don't talk very much do you?" He replied.

"I am here to give my condolences for your lost one. Daruk was a very courageous and powerful Champion. I know he would want Yunobo to take his place as the pilot of Divine Beast Vah Rudania." Zelda directed her attention to the young boy. His eyes widened.

"Me? Well, I just can't do that..." He looked down at his hands.

"Nonsense, boy!" The boss exclaimed. "You can't just dishonor your ancestor like that! You are the only descendant of Daruk, and you must take his place. It is your destiny."

"He's right." Zelda confirmed. "But, only if you're comfortable with the role. You're the only one who will be able to rightfully perform the task, but it's very demanding."

"Well, I would do it... but I don't think I'm the best Goron for this." He frowned.

"Of course you are, Yunobo. You can be just like Daruk if you believe in yourself." Zelda assured him. He smiled brightly back at her. Her wisdom never fails her.

"You're right, I'll do it!" He threw his big fist up to the sky. After a bit of talking with Yunobo about the Divine Beast, they continued on. Zelda pulled Emery away from Link, dragging her to a spot to sit down at the mines.

"It's a shame that Yunobo doubts himself like that when he has Daruk's protection." Zelda commented, crossing her legs gracefully.

"It is, but I get it." Emery replied. Zelda nodded in understanding.

"After we recruit the last Champion, we'll have a ceremony. Maybe then you'll believe you're a real Champion." Zelda squeezed her hand quickly before pulling away. "Your parents came from a long line of descendants of the royal guard. Link's ancestors and your ancestors were great friends. Unfortunately, Link's parents didn't make it out of the castle alive. Your grandparents fortunately did. If they hadn't, we wouldn't have you. Who knows what would've happened then."

"I just don't understand how I was born so long after you and Link, even if I am technically the same age as you. Time stopped for you both when Calamity Ganon arose, I know, but it all still doesn't make any sense to me." Emery sighed, looking at Zelda hopefully for a satisfying answer.

"It was the way Goddess Hylia wanted it, that's all I can say. It was a sign that from our perspective, everything went the way it should've. She was unable to control when the arise of Calamity Ganon would take place, but she made ways for us to be able to defeat him when we were supposed to. She couldn't control the world or Ganon, but she had a great fate set for us." Zelda explained. Emery nodded, the answer satisfying her enough.

"Do you think you were meant to misinterpret the words of your ancestors, then?" Emery asked.

"Possibly." She nodded.

"Well, how come you beat yourself up over not being able to save everyone you loved from Calamity Ganon when this is what Goddess Hylia wanted?" Emery asked. Zelda chuckled lightly.

"You're right, I shouldn't beat myself up over it still, after a hundred years, when it's what Goddess Hylia wanted for everyone." Zelda nodded. "You're very intelligent, you know that?"

"I try, but it's not Triforce of Wisdom intelligence." And they both laughed. It seemed they were both getting along well, which Zelda was more than happy. She was always in need of a girl friend, and she thought maybe Emery was the one.
