Would you dare to reach out to me
Cold hand of stone,
And touch what had not fully grown
And never let my worries be?
Would you ever try to soften still
Build roads and bridges,
Not walls that stand rigid
So that I can see over the growing hill?
Would words sound as stiff
as a touch from your fingers,
though my thoughts should not linger
on dreams like 'but' and 'if'?
Tell me, doesn't your garden grow fully
thousand flowers in rosy beds,
bleeding from cracked skulls and heads
Their weeping water-base a waste, surely?
Oh, cold hand of stone
Reach out and pray that I never find you,
Because with all of my strength I will unwind you
and make you feel as I, alone.
