I never thought that one was 'not enough'
But then there were two.
Then I started to see what the others meant
Because one person can only give so much;
Two can give much more.
What my young eyes saw was a role model -
Someone to play games with,
Someone to read stories to,
Someone to laugh with,
Another member of the family.
But at the same time everyone else saw a temporary solution to a permanent problemAs I said:
Temporary.
So yeah, you where there when it was easy.When I cried about the day ending.
When I had to colour for homework
After that I became the defective child.
All because I went from Two, One, Two, One within the space of nine years.
You said you loved me -
Do you even know what love is?
I sometimes wonder what it would be like if you stayed...
I guess you tried being a replacement;
I guess you didn't like it.
But you didn't think about the scarred heart and mind you left behind.
Oh well.
