16 - Finding Her

Serena POV

It was so dark.

I don't know where I am, or what happened. I can't see anything. It's so dark..

Suddenly, footsteps were heard and I sobbed, tears falling down my face. The footsteps grew lounder and my heart was pounding. My cheeks were drenched in tears and I couldn't breathe properly out of fear.

The door to my cell slammed open and I could barely see a black-haired girl. I squinted my eyes to try to see who the person was, but it was useless. She walked towards me and pulled out what looked like a syringe, and pointed it at my neck.

"You're finally awake.." she spoke in a cold, lifeless voice that made my shiver. She pointed the syringe closer to my neck and tears once again fell down uncontrollably. I closed my eyes and wished for someone, anyone, to just help me. "W-w-w- why... are.. y-you.. d-d-doing.. t-this..?" I managed to say.

"It's so simple," she spoke. "To make everyone die a painful, slow death by this poison."

"W-why would.. y-you.. do... t-t-this..?"

Her eyes were like filled with fire and she clutched the syrinfe tigthly. "Because.. because.. they all deserve it.. after what they did to me.. I didn't do anything to them.. and yet.. they.. they.. they murdered me.."

A million questions popped into my head. "But.. how.. are.. you... here.. then..?"

"I was wearing a jacket that can prevent knives from stabbing me when they were killing me. I survived, but only barely," she pointed the syringe closer to my neck and started to push it and I panicked. "Now. Shut up if you don't want to get injected by this two times."

I swallowed and tears fell down once more. All of a sudden, I felt a sharp, very sharp pain on my neck and my vision swam. Waves of dizziness shot through my head and it felt like my head was about to split open in pain. I coughed as I felt the poison spread through my body. I fell down the chair amd curled into a ball as I continued to cougb violentely as I heard her laugh hysterically. My vision blurred one last time (🎵ONE LAST TIME!!!!🎵SORRY XD)  and finally darkness surrounded me.

Ash POV

It felt like it's been an hour already as we were walking through the forest and yet it's only been about 15 minutes. I ran and ran, not daring to stop any second. I can't let her get hurt. I can't let Serena get hurt.

I'm not going to waste any second here. I can't let anything happen to her. I'm going to save her. I'm going to.

I kept on running as fast as I can, I don't care if I can't get back to the PokeCenter. I don't care if I get injured or hurt. I don't care. I don't care anymore. All I care about is Serena. Only her. Nothing else. No one else.

Only her matters.

I'm going to find and save her.

And I'm going to make sure of it.
