(Tracker comes out the top of the staircase, followed by
Skye and Callie. The 'goyles watch from above.)

Zuma: Look! He's got a friend with him.

Rubble: Yeah, maybe today wasn't a total loss after all.

Rocky: A vision of loveliness!

Rubble: The one in the dress ain't bad either.

(Tracker reaches his room, where the 'goyles greet him.)

Rubble: Tracker!

Rocky: Congratulations!

Rubble: Got the girls chasing you already!

Tracker: Actually, I--

Rocky: You mustn't run too fast, or she'll get away!

Tracker: Yes, ah, ah, ah, I know. That's what--

Rubble: Give her some slack, then reel her in, then give her
some slack, then reel her in, then give her some slack--

Zuma: Knock it off, Rubble--she's a girl, not a mackerel.

(Skye finally enters, and the 'goyles go stone.)

Skye: Here you are. I was afraid I'd lost you.

Tracker: Yes. Um, well, I uh, I have chores
to do. It was, uh, nice...seeing...you...again. Ohh...

Skye: No, wait!

(Callie is examining Rubble. He briefly comes to life, makes
kissing faces at Callie, then goes back to stone. Callie is confused.)

Skye: (Giving chase to the once again fleeing Tracker)
I'm really sorry about this afternoon. I had no idea who you were. I would never in my life had...pulled...you...up on the...stage.

(She slows down as she reaches Tracker's room, with its
dangling glass mobile and model of the city. She is in awe.)

Skye: What is this place?

Tracker: This is where I live.

Skye: Did you make all these things yourself?

Tracker: Most of them.

(She fingers the mobile.)

Skye: This is beautiful. If I could do this,
you wouldn't find me dancing in the streets for coins.

Tracker: But you're a wonderful dancer.

Skye: Well, it keeps bread on the table, anyway. What's this?

Tracker: Oh, no, please oh, I'm not finished--I still have to paint them...

Skye: (in surprise)
The blacksmith, and the baker. You're a surprising person, Tracker.
Not to mention lucky. All this room to yourself.

Skye: Well, it's not just me--there's the gargoyles,
and of course the bells. Would you like to see them?

Esmeralda: Yes, of course. Wouldn't we, Callie?

(Callie, who has been tackling an unpainted figure, stops and nods.)

Tracker: Follow me. I'll introduce you.

(Up in the bell tower)

Skye: Never knew there were so many.

Tracker: That's Little Sophia, and...(quickly)
Jean Marie, Ann Marie, and Louise Marie. Triplets, you know.

Skye: And who's this?

Tracker: Big Marie.

(From under Big Marie, Skye shouts a "Hello!", which echoes and resonates richly.)

Tracker: She likes you. Would you like to see more?

Skye: How 'bout it, Callie?

(Callie, under Big Marie, meows loudly, which in turn echoes and resonates richly.)

Skye: We'd love to.

Tracker: Good. I've saved the best for last!

(Tracker and Skye proceed outside to a beautiful view of Paris and the Seine.)

Skye: I bet the king himself doesn't have a view like this! I could stay up here forever.

Tracker: You could, you know.

Skye: No, I couldn't.

Tracker: Oh, yes, you have sanctuary!

Skye: But not freedom. Gypsies don't do well inside stone walls.

Tracker: But you're not like other gypsies. They're...evil.

Skye: Who told you that?

Tracker: My master, Humdinger. He raised me.

Skye: How could such a cruel man have raised someone like you?

Tracker: Cruel?!? Oh, no. He saved my life. He took
me in when no one else would. I am a monster, you know.

Skye: He told you that?

Tracker: Look at me.

Skye: Give me your hand.

(She takes his hand and looks at his palm.)

Tracker: Why?

Skye: Just let me see.
(Tracing his palm lines with her finger)
Hmm, a long life line...oh, and this one means you're shy.
Hmm. Hmm, hmm, hmm...well, that's funny...

Tracker: What!

Skye: I don't see any.

Tracker: Any what?

Skye: Monster lines. Not a single one. Now you look at me. Do you think I'm evil?

Tracker: No, no, no! You are kind, and good, and--

Skye: --and a gypsy. And maybe Humdinger's wrong about the both of us.

(Below, the 'goyles are straining to listen in.)

Rubble: What did she say?!?

Zuma: Humdinger's nose is long, and he wears a truss.

Rubble: Hah! Told ya! (To Rocky) Pay up!

(Rocky hands him a gold coin.)
