Jacob POV

The alarm slapped me awake, I reached over where Annie was to turn it off. I rubbed at my eyes.
"Annie get up."
When I didn't get a response, I looked down at her. Except she wasn't there. My Annie was missing. I jumped straight out of bed and checked my bathroom, knocking on the door before entering. No answer, I opened the door up. She wasn't in here.
I rushed out of my bedroom and looked over the railing, I couldn't see her. I ran down the stairs, two steps at a time.
"Annie?"
Still no answer as I landed my feet on the cold, hard wooden floor boards.
"ANNIE?!"
I reached the kitchen but still no sign of her.
"Oh, heck Annie."
I rushed to the front door, it wasn't open, but it wasn't locked. I burst out into the cool breeze.
"ANNIE?!"
I looked out over the paddock as I rushed off the porch steps. Where was she?

Annie POV

I woke up early, still a little nervous about school. 6:00 that's what the clock had on it. I got up and slipped a plain black shirt on over my bra. Then pulled a pair of blue jeans out, and wriggled them on. Being careful not to wake Jacob. I put my socks on, then slipped my black boots on.
After brushing my hair I left the room. I walked quietly down the stairs, and to the front door. I unlocked the door and walked out closing it behind me.
I needed to distract myself, so I walked down to the horse shed where the black horse I rode the other day was.
I lead her out of her pen, and put the lead on her. Then saddled her up.
"Good girl... Wanna go for a ride?"
I brushed some leaves off her face, obviously from last nights storm.
"Come on girl."
I made sure my boots were on tight then climbed on top of the horse. Patting here back while she walked out and into the paddock.
"Wait, wait.... Stop."
I stopped her then looked around. The ground was wet, so I led her through to another paddock, of flatter ground.
"Ok, sorry girl... Let's go."
I clapped my foot against her side.
"Giddy-up, girl."
We started at a walk, then a trot, then a full run. We went right around the property, my head was clearer now. I wasn't so scared of going to school, but there was something about the school that sounded... Off.
I headed back around the fence line towards the front paddock.
"Good job. You're a beautiful horse."
I said as I brought her to a run again.
As we rode up towards the house I saw Jacob standing there. Fresh out of bed, in his boxers and his bare chest being slapped with the wind. He was calling my name.
"ANNIE?!"
He turned towards me, and saw me. I saw relief flood through his face.
"Oh, heck Annie..... Are you okay?"
I slowed the horse down, just before I reached him.
"I'm fine."
I looked at him, he was calming himself down. Was he worried?
"I see you came straight out. Didn't bother with the clothes..... I love it."
He smiled at me, and flexed his muscles.
"Yeah just for you. When did you get up."
I jumped down from the horse patting her back once I was off.
"6:00, did I scare you baby?"
I walked round to him.
"Just a lot."
He kissed me, and I grabbed his hand.
"I have to take her back."
We started to walk and again I used her lead to take her back.
"Oh, so you've met Scarlet?"
"Scarlet, I love her."
He stopped dead in his tracks.
"What's wrong?"
I looked at him slightly worried.
"Oh... It's just that... I'm guessing.... You love.... Scarlet more then... Me?"
Seriously?! I slapped him on the arm.
"Yeah, thanks for that. Gave me a heart attack. Sorry Scarlet, I think I love him more."
I patted her and leaned against Jacob.
"It's ok, she doesn't like me like that. She says I'm all yours."
He started laughing as he pulled me in for a hug. I started to laugh too.
"How long till school?"
He looked at me slightly surprised.
"Not afraid I'm guessing? Well we have 2 hours to show up to home group."
He kissed me on the lips, then we started to take Scarlet back to her pen, and locked her up.
"She's great to ride. Bye Scarlet."
I said patting her on the back.
"I will give you a wash later."
Jacob pulled me into a hug, with his arm around my shoulder and walked me back up to the house.
"Jeez, your cold lover boy."
I said placing a hand on his bare chest.
"Yeah, came straight out of bed for you, no pants, no shower, didn't even fix my hair!"
I placed a kiss on his cheek.
"Come on, let's get you warmed up."
