Jacob POV

The next afternoon

Dad was asleep in his room, and today I was going to visit Annie.

"Bridget, we go see Annie?"

Bridget clapped her hands together and started to speak gibberish the same way she would when she saw Annie.

"Ok, let's go then. Where's your bag?"

She turned around in a circle and pointed to the couch, I picked her bag up. Then walked into the kitchen getting her a bottle of milk. I put it into the bag and then grabbed the pram.

"In we go."

I placed her in the pram, then strapped her in. I put her bag on the handles then walked out the door, picking my bag up off the porch.

When we got to the hospital it was five o'clock. Dad was coming to pick us up at nine o'clock. That's why I grabbed Bridget's bottle, so I could put her to bed before then.

"Hi, Clarissa. I'm here to see Annie."

Clarissa the desk administrator, bounced around with a smile on her face.

"Oh yes, should I tell her you are coming in?"

"No, it's fine."

She looked down at the pram and Bridget.

"And who is this? You look too young to have your own child."

I laughed heartily, and smiled at Bridget who was still bouncing around in her pram. She was excited to see Annie.

"No, this is my little sister. Bridget."

I turned down to Bridget and spoke to her as those speak to children.

"We are here to see Annie, aren't we Bridget?"

Bridget started clapping her hands together and bouncing around in the pram. Clarissa was smiling.

"Enjoy your night then. See ya."

The last part she said to Bridget as she waved childishly.

We walked down the corridor, and up to Annie's room. I didn't knock I just opened the door and pushed the pram in.

"Ann-e!"

Bridget said as she saw Annie laying in the bed. She was asleep, I could tell. But she knew I was coming, so she probably fell asleep a few hours ago.

I walked in a put the pram next to my bed in the ward, and took Bridget out of the pram.

"Hey, baby."

I heard Annie say, I don't think she has seen Bridget yet. I turn around holding Bridget.

"I brought you a visitor. How are you?"

I say as I hand her Bridget and she holds her close.

"Hi baby girl..."

She gives her a kiss and sits up as Bridget leans against her. Cuddling her.

"My day was good, how was school?"

I smile at her as I lean over to give her a kiss.

"It was alright."

I pull back and put my study books on the table, I needed to study. But doing it in Annie's presence would help me, sustain me. It would be better.

So that's what we did.

Annie POV

I laid back as I gave Bridget her bottle, it was six thirty and we had just gotten our dinner. But I had to feed Bridget first, or I would feel bad.

As she drank she slowly closed her eyes. Falling asleep.

"She's beautiful Jacob, she makes me feel alive."

Jacob looks at me and I look up at him.

"How alive?"

"She makes me feel older, and makes me appreciate life. So do you, except you make me feel young."

Jacob laughs at me. Then comes over picking Bridget up out of my arms, she had finished her bottle now and was asleep.

He kissed her on the head then put her on his bed, with pillows all around her. So she couldn't fall out.

"Come sit with me."

I whispered. He came over and sat with me and kissed me lightly on the lips.

"School is different with out you, you know that?"

"It would be, but not by much."

I say reassuring him, or trying to.

"By heaps, I'm used to having you there now, and you are gone. It's odd, we have spent just over six months together, and now when I'm with out you for so long I feel like a piece of me is missing. I will adjust eventually, but that will take time."

Jacob says as he rests his head in the crook of my neck.

"It's okay.."

I say.

"We have three weeks."

Jacob's laughs at that and sits up. I sit up with him, tasting his lips against mine. Delicious, sweet but sour. Just not sour enough for me to pull back. Evenly balanced.

"Have you finished?"

I ask as we both come up for air, my hands curl around his hair.

"Finished?"

I keep twirling my fingers through his hair as I swirl my words a bit.

"Your homework?"

He laughs against my chest.

"Of coarse."

My head tells me I shouldn't say this but I'm going to anyway.

"Then, by all means continue your examination Dr."

He smiles then leans in for a kiss, and just before he does he asks me.

"Is this what you want to do? Cause we don't have too, if you don't want too.."

Too many words and yes this is what I want, but I like that he cares.

"Of coarse I want this, even if this place was burning down I would want this. I love you Jacob."

"I love you too, Annie."

He leans in for a kiss, and neither of us brake for air this time.
