"We're on Earth," Lance whispered, "Oh my quiznak, Keith, we're on earth." Keith fiddled with his hair, smiling as he saw the Cuban boy dance around kicking up the dirt he had miss so much.
Lance stop dancing as an epiphany struck him, "Keith, I need to go home. I need to see my family," Lance started to look around to find some sort of clue to where they were.
"I don't know Lance," Keith said, making the new red paladin stop in his tracks "We should contact the others."
"Keith," Lance replied in an icy tone, "my family thinks I'm dead, I need to see them. I wouldn't expect you to understand." the Cuban boy slapped his hand over his mouth as he realized what he had said. "K-Keith I didn't mean it like that."
"Then how the hell did you mean it, Lance!" Keith's heart was breaking, how could Lance say something like that, he shook his head, "doesn't matter."
"I'm sorry"
"I SAID IT DOESN'T MATTER," Keith screamed, scaring both Lance and himself, "come on let's go."
"What?" Lance question.
"Well, do you want to see you family or not," The half Galra boy replied with the same icy tone Lance use before.
Lance didn't say anything. He knew it didn't matter what came out of his mouth, it was going to piss Keith off as simple as that, so, instead, they started walking not saying a word. As the road became more and more familiar Lance grew more and more excited, he still felt awful for what he had said to Keith but he irritated Keith every day. It had been over a year since Lance had seen his loving parents and darling siblings. As they approach the front door Lance noticed something different. The door, the door was different. It was the same house but things had changed, the paint was new, the window Lance had broke as a kid was fixed, and abuela's rocking-chair was absent from its normal spot on the front porch.
"Are you going to knock?" Keith asked, sounding a lot kinder than what was previously displayed. Lance, now out of his thoughts raised his fist and bump it on the door in some sort of rhythm.
the door creaked opened, "Mama?" Lance said as she opened the door, "Mama?" he questioned again, this woman was undoubtedly his mother but she was, older. the woman on the other side of the doorway looking at her son with an expression that was a mixture of confused and terrified "Lance?" she asked
"yes?" a voice call from inside.
she put her on her forehead, "Estoy demasiado sobrio para esto," she muttered to herself before calling in the house, " Lance, Keith you're at the front door." She leaves the doorway as a man came into view, a man who looked EXACTLY like Lance aside for the haircut and the fact that the unknown man was about ten years older and a little taller. Everyone stopped in their tracks
"Keith," the man called with wide eyes, "you might want to see this." soon after a man who looked EXACTLY like Keith with a ponytail was standing right next to him, holding something swaddled in a pink blanket. they all stood there in silents each of them wondering what was happening.
"babe," the older Keith said breaking the silents, "you see them too, right?"
(Estoy demasiado sobrio para esto = i'm to sobor for this)
