Mikaris Misaka walked down the long metal hallways that littered the Science Bureau without feeling or emotion. Her only guidance through this maze, being that it was here she was raised and brought up, during the Psychic Supreme's attempts to make espers so as to build up an army.

The Science Bureau was cruel place. Almost every single room was devoted to studying the psychological torture of humans, so as to induce automatic triggering of Psychic powers within them and mass produce the subjects known as espers. While of course Academy City didn't usually practice such brutal methods to bring about there esper creation, it was safe to say that the dark sides of both cities were equally black, even if the Earthland Aleister Crowley hadn't displayed any attempts at multiversal domination. The difference was, that Psychic City was far more open about it's dark side...and every citizen knew it.

From the outside, Psychic City looked much like Academy City, except instead of being landlocked within Japan, the city was actually flying high in the sky using a antigravity propulsion device that looked like a bunch of large glowing blue disks on the dome like metalic underside of the city. Large weaponized high tech photon cannons lined the sides of the city like a floating battle ship. You could say that Psychic City was designed for war and conquest. And you would be right.

In this Edolas, the world below Psychic City was a scene of destruction...entire cities were damaged and being held under the commands of Psychic City's top soldiers.

As Mikaris walked down the long hallways, she briefly glanced the empty metal tables in the labs, remembering all the harsh experiments the bureau had peformed on her when she was young. That's how it worked. The moment you turned 5 years old, you were taken away from your family and tested. If you tested as a Level 0, you were sent home, no questions asked. If you were a Level 1 or up, well you had better prepare to never ever see your family again, because it was a military life for you.

Mikaris barely remembered her family, and she barely cared. She had been taught that to care was weakness, and weakness merely brought about the pain of loss she did not want to feel. All the espers were taught something different depending on the nature of their abilities. Domus Accelerator, rumor had it, had been thrown into the wilderness under observation to turn him into the wild animalistic personality he was now. Miktaris, well her torture was of a slightly crueler nature.

Mikaris shook herself from her thoughts. She had no idea why she was remembering any of this now. This wasn't the time for sentiments. She was here to do her duty and nothing more.

Mikaris knocked on the metal door at the end of the hallway, and a strange scanner scanned her uninjured eye. Recognizing her retinal scan, the door slid open with a hissing noise and Mikaris stepped into a massive room that was almost completely dark except for a spot light in the middle and strange holographic polygons that flew throughout the dark room.

Mikaris kneeled within the large spot light. "General Mikaris Misaka reporting sir."

"Mikaris." Said an omninous low whispering voice. "How good to see you. Has the capital of that other Edolas been taken yet?"

"Easily Psychic Supreme." said Mikaris. "They were barely able to put up a fight. And their greatest warrior, Erza Knightwalker joined with us."

"Interesting, do you know of this Erza's motives for joining us General?"

"Actually..." said Mikaris. "I do, and forgive me, the reasons are actually quite personal...for me and her."

"Hmmmm...would this happen to have anything to do with that brief time a smaller rift opened between our worlds 3 years ago?"

"Yes...I cannot lie to you."

"Then an explanation is unnecessary." said The Psychic Supreme. "I only hope that this does not cloud your judgement.."
