WILL

“How long till we get there, Will?” Rose asked, for the fifth time.

       “Not long, Rose” I answered.

I’ve been planning this for weeks now. I want this to be perfect. I blindfolded Rose and guided her to the place. We’ve been walking for about five minutes now, we should arrive at the garden anytime now.

“You said that ten minutes ago,”

I laughed. “I’m not lying this time, I promise,” And I kissed her cheek. She smiled.

Finally, I can see the garden just outside the town. “We’re here,” I said.

“Oh thank God, can I take the blindfold off now?” She asked.

“No, no, not just yet,” I said, guiding her to the right place. And finally, I opened her blindfold. Her eyes widen.

The garden is now full of flowers. There are so many roses lined up on the side of the paths guiding us to a circle of roses. I’ve been working on this for weeks now. It took a lot of time and help from all my friends, but I finally get it done. Although it left me a bunch of scars on my hand, but it’s totally worth it, seeing the look on her face when she saw it.

“It’s beautiful,” She said, looking around. She smiled.

“Come on,” I said, guiding her to the circle of roses. She followed me. Now we’re completely surrounded by bushes of roses all over.

“What’s all this for?” She asked.

I get down to one knee in front of her and took the small box from my pocket. “This,” I said, then open the small box, showing the diamond ring inside it.

       Rose covered her mouth, surprised.

I smiled. “I have wanted to do this for so long, and I wanted to do this the right way. I wanted to make it perfect, for you.” I stopped. She smiled.

“Rose, you have made me so happy. You’ve changed my life in so many ways. I have never had anyone to care for in my whole life. And I have never had anyone cared for me. Until you,” My heart beats faster. It’s all true.

“We have to face many challenges to be together, but in the end, it all worked out. And I’m happy that it did, because I realized that I… I wanted to spend the rest of my life with you, I love you so much that it hurts,”

       She chuckled.

“So, Rose…” I stopped, and look deep into her eyes. “Will you marry me?” And suddenly it felt like the whole world stop spinning.

Rose nodded, and kept nodding. “Yes, Will, yes I will marry you,” I took her hand and put the ring on the ring finger on her left hand. Then she pulled me up and kissed me. It was the best kiss I’ve ever had. “I love you so much,” She said, in between the kisses.

“Try to say ‘I do’ this time, okay?” I said, and she laughs.

It was the happiest day of my life.
