ROSE

It’s time! Today is the day where Adele is going to take the throne and be our Queen. I’m very excited to see it.

But I couldn’t get my mind off Will. Why would someone do that to him? He’s the kindest person I’ve ever met—although I haven’t really met many people, still— and probably also the sweetest.

We’re already in the ballroom, again, for the event. People started coming in and filling up the space. I scanned the room from the very front, where all of my sisters and I sit, to see if I can tell who can possibly do something like that to Will. But I found none. I guess I just don’t know these people and I’m not in the position to judge them.

After about fifteen minutes, the room was finally full. Everyone is here. My dad and my mom, the king and the queen, entered the room and everyone is suddenly quiet. They make a way for the king and the queen to pass and bow down.

When they arrive at the very front of the room, they started the ceremony, though I didn’t really pay much attention to what they’re saying.

Adele went in front of my parents and she gave a couple of vows and when it’s done, my parents put the throne on her head. Then my parents smiled to her and step aside. Adele stood on the top of the platform and everyone bowed to her.

She’s the new Queen.

The ceremony is finally done. Then the party started. But before anyone can move to enjoy themselves, Zach stood up and started walking towards the front. Everyone is looking at him by now. His eyes were pinned to me.

He bowed in front of Adele. “I am sorry to surprise you, my Queen, but I just have something to say to one of your sisters,” He said, and Adele nodded.

Zach is now walking towards me. What is going on? He smiled to me and then knelt in front of me.

“Rose Jane Wallace,” He stopped, and we locked eyes. “Would you marry me?”

Everyone started gasping and whispering and giving us so many attention. My eyes widen. What am I going to do? I mean, do I love him? I don’t know! Why would he pick this moment, in front of everyone, to propose me? I needed some time to think. But I know I have to answer him now.

I put my hands in front of my mouth. My heart is beating so fast. My palms are sweating. I don’t know what to say, or to do, or even think. Do I want to marry him? Is he the one? I don’t know. My mind is filling up with things that I’ve never even thought about in my whole life.

What about Will? Wait… What does Will have anything to do with this?

I looked over to my parents. My mom smiling to me and nodding to me. They’re happy for me. They wanted me to do this.

Everyone is still looking at me. I have to answer this right now, or else they’re going to get suspicious.

“Y-yes” I answered. What? Really, Rose? I thought.

I… I am getting married.

Zach put a ring on my finger and got up to kiss me. But I didn’t kiss him back. All I could do is stand there.

WILL

After what happened yesterday, all I’ve been doing is lying on my bed. Rose told the head butler that I should get a day off because of my condition. I got injured pretty badly. I couldn’t get up, since my stomach hurts every time I move.
